Other than the Emperor! Who are the most powerful Psykers in all of 40k? We’ve got a pretty short list of who’d we want on our Psychic Team.

When it comes to Psykers in the Grimdark, there are a few that stand out head-and-shoulders above the rest. These powerful individuals can harness their minds into weapons capable of mass destruction or can communicate with individuals vast distances away. They can do a myriad of other things with nothing more than their minds. Who are these gifted and talented individuals? They are the most powerful Pskyers In the Universe! (Other than the Emperor, duh.)

Chief Librarian Tigurius

Prime Time Tiggy is one of the most powerful Psykers in the service of the Emperor. He’s so powerful, he is able to go mind-to-mind with the Hive Mind of the Tyrands.

“In recent years, Tigurius has turned his powers towards the Tyranid Hive Fleets menacing the Imperium. The sheer accuracy of his predictions about the movement and intents of the Great Devourer have led many to believe that Tigurius has managed to penetrate the Hive Mind itself, something only a psyker as powerful as the Emperor could withstand without going insane. If this is true, then Tigurius may well be the most powerful active psyker in the Imperium, second only to the Immortal God Emperor himself.”

And now that he’s a Primaris Version of himself, I’m sure he’s even stronger. But speaking of the Tyranid Hive Mind…

Tyranid Hive Mind

“The Hive Mind is the gestalt collective consciousness of the entire Tyranid race, a psychic embodiment of the Tyranid instincts and racial imperatives to devour and destroy.

The Hive Mind is not a single mind capable of small, conscious thought the way a Human‘s mind works, but instead it is a grand agglomeration created from the psychic presence of untold billions of Tyranid creatures. It is a nightmarish and unfathomable intelligence that allows Tyranids to coordinate and adapt as if every Tyranid creature is merely a part of a single massive organism, one which is utterly focused on consuming all other life.”

While it might not be a “Psyker” in the human sense, it’s hard to deny that the Hive Mind of the Tyranids isn’t a Psychic Powerhouse. It’s so powerful that it generates its own Shadow in the Warp! The Hive Mind doesn’t just dwarf other Psykers, it smothers them and sends them screaming mad into the void.

Malcador the Sigillite

“Malcador the Sigillite, also known as Malcador the Hero by decree of the Emperor was the First Lord of Terra as well as the Grand Master of Assassins during the Horus Heresy. He was a powerful psyker who could communicate over long distances and wield immense power. He was a close adviser to the Emperor during the Unification Wars, and the man credited with founding the Administratum of Terra.”

While Malcador might be dead, his legacy lives on. In fact, he’s the only other Psyker to have sat upon the Golden Throne and while he might of died in the process, the fact that he held out as long as he did is a massive testament to his own skill and power.

Magnus

“Magnus the Red (Also known as the Crimson King, the Sorcerer-KingCyclopean Magnus or the Red Cyclops) is the Primarch of the Thousand Sons Chaos Space Marine legion. A giant in both physical and mental terms whilst a mortal inhabitant of the materium, Magnus long tried to understand and control the warp, becoming a sorcerer of formidable power. Magnus would eventually fall from favour with his father, the Emperor, and with the majority of his brother-primarchs due to his zealous advocacy and use of such power. Indeed it would prove to be his mortal undoing, as, forewarned of Horus‘ fall to Chaos, his attempt to use his own warp-touched abilities to alert the Emperor to the situation brought about his own damnation and servitude to the Chaos God Tzeentch. Magnus led his own troops to the banner of Horus and fought on his side during the Great Betrayal, surviving the events and being elevated to the position of Daemon Prince. He has spent the majority of the millennia since ensconced atop his tower upon the Planet of the Sorcerers, planning the destruction of the Imperium.”

Magnus was originally chosen by the Emperor to sit on the Golden Throne. However, when he turned to Chaos the Imperium lost one of the most powerful raw Psykers to ever have lived. His power has only been amplified as he has ascended to Daemon Prince as well. Magnus is definately one of the most powerful Psykers in the Universe!

Eldrad Ulthran

“Eldrad Ulthran was the chief Farseer of the Ulthwé Craftworld. He was perhaps the most gifted psyker amongst the Eldar, his incredible foresight having saved many thousands of Eldar lives. He created and carried into battle the Staff of Ulthamar, and his resilience and power has been a rallying point for the declining Eldar race.”

The Aeldari are all psychic and the fact that Eldrad is their most gifted psyker speaks volumes of his power. While he “died” upon a Blackstone Fortress, it has since been retconned that he’s still technically alive – only Crystallizing. If only the Aeldari had a way to bring the “dead” back to life…

Honorable Mention: Kairos Fateweaver

The reason we’ve got Fateweaver down here on the Honorable Mention section is because we’re not exactly sure how to classify Fateweaver. Is it Psychic Power or Magic? Is it Warp Dust? Daemons are entities of the Warp and it could be argued that he is fueled by the psychic reverberations of emotions and life from the material universe. Whatever the case, if Fateweaver is a Psyker, he’s should be on the list – but we’re still not entirely sure where he falls.
