Goatboy’s Warhammer 40K – Space Wolf Dreadnought Stampede!

Goatboy here and of course we all know I love Dreadnoughts. Especially Wolf-dreadnoughts!

This is most likely an example of the sickness a lot of us have – we call it Shiney New Army Nonsense!  You mix this back in with my return to my old partner the Space Goats and you can see where the burning of this “dream” is.  You can also blame Larry who is begging me to find all my old Space Goats dreads, make some new ones (if I could get the damned Redemptors), and field this monstrosity of zombie robots suited goat dudes.  Oh and the fact that Bjorn is a dreadnought-based Captain and you get why this is something that has to happen.

On a side note – I am pretty sad I can’t take an Iron Priest on a Thunder Wolf.  I know why I can’t – but it still makes me kind of sad.  I didn’t have a ton that were not easily converted into a basic Thunder Wolf Cavalry model for my current Space Goats Tsunami of Jugger Pups so it isn’t all bad – but it still makes me sad.  That army is for when I get all the models done and we get a big ole pic of them on a table top – so don’t worry its coming for those who miss my Goats.  If you want to see some of the new ones – check out my Instagram.

Enough of that – let’s build something, shall we?  Building “extreme niche” lists usually means taking a Patrol and then getting one of the “taxed” detachments.  This is no different this time as we don’t want a lot of Troops gumming up the table and instead need as many robots like this.  I won’t be using any Forge World as I don’t think I need to burn more CP than I already have.

Dreadtastic Tactics!

This is a list designed to get to the middle, hold it with a ton of bodies, and hope to cause some ruckus.  I think I should look at adding the Marine warlord trait to give some people Objective Secured – but allowing Bjorn to have his larger Aura might end up working better.  It would allow more Dreads to get a reroll 1 to hit and it kinda fits to make that guy the Warlord.  I went with the Invictus suits as they can give some much-needed pressure turn 1 and allow the dreads to move up and get in the way.  The Chaplain does what he always does – give benefits to charge, the Wulfen stone allows rerolls, and he is a decent little beatstick on his own.  The Primaris Techmarine can easily be swapped out for something else – I just thought it would fit into the army.

Blame Larry for making me build this out and then start to think about how I could do it. – For the Wolftime!
