Let’s take a look at when all the new Star Wars shows take place in the new official Disney timeline.

Star Wars is getting a ton of new shows, and a couple movies. While this is super exciting for fans, with more than 10 new shows coming it can be hard to keep track of where they all fit in on the timeline (which we covered here). Let’s take a look.

Acolyte

Acolyte is described as something of a mystery thriller dealing with emerging Dark Side powers. On the timeline it is the earliest show and the first show set during the High Republic. That puts its right around here:

That’s pretty exciting as it makes for an intro to a whole new era and look.

Kenobi and the Bad Batch

Next up we have two shows set during the Reign of the Empire. The Bad Batch, which is helpfully already on the official timeline, takes place right at the start of the era and follows the titular Bad Batch through the transition from the Republic to the Empire. Kenobi meanwhile takes place 10 years after Revenge of the Sith, and about halfway through the Empire era, putting it right about here on the timeline:

Andor

Next up we have Andor, a show all about the deadly Cassian Andor. This show is going to be set during the Age of Rebellion and prior to the events of Rogue One (for obvious reasons). While we don’t know exactly when it takes place I won’t be surprised if it is sometime after the events of Rebels, in which the Rebellion forms. That would put it right about here:

This is smack dab in the middle of classic Star Wars and I’m hyped.

Rangers of the New Republic, Book of Fett, Ashoka and The Mandalorian

A massive 4 shows, Ahsoka, Rangers of the New Republic, the Mandalorian, and the Book of Fett all take place during the New Republic Era. These shows all run concurrently and will intertwine. Since the Mandalorian is already marked on the timelime it’s pretty clear where these fall:

In addition, as far as we know these are the latest shows on the timeline currently announced.

The Unknown Ones

A handful of shows/ movies that have been announced don’t have a clear spot on the timeline yet, but for some, we can guess. Rogue Squadron for instance almost certainly takes place during either the Age of Rebellion or the New Republic Era. I would guess it’s during the Rebellion, but can’t be 100% sure. We know that Rogue Squadron was formed after the Battle of Yavin in Episode IV and that they are flying T-65 X-wings in it, so it has to fall sometime between Yavin and the introduction of the T-70 prior to the Rise of the First Order Era.

Without even knowing which actor will be playing Lando it’s hard to pin this one down. Conceivably it could take place during any of the 4 later eras, though if I had to guess I’d be betting on Glover coming back and it being set during the Reign of the Empire and after Solo.

Visions meanwhile is described as an anthology and seems like it will retell other stories, some I’m guessing it’s not set in any one era, but spread out. Meanwhile both A Droid Story and Taika Waititi’s simply have too little info out for us to even guess at this point.

Let us know what you think about the new timeline, down in the comments!
