A big weekend coming up for the grim darkness of the distant future, with the release of a new battlebox, war zone book, and Drukhari codex.

Next weekend kicks off with a swath of new pre-order releases for Warhammer 40K, starting with an all new battle box that showcases the Adepta Sororitas and Drukhari, which is conveniently one of the big conflicts framed in the upcoming new War Zone Charadon series as well. Let’s take a look at what’s coming next weekend!

via Warhammer Community

First up, it’s Battle Sisters vs. Dark Eldar in Piety and Pain. Come and see who’s the most zealous about shedding the blood of their enemies, the ones who do it out of a sense of duty or hedonism. Hm. Wonder which is which.

This fantastic set includes two armies – Adepta Sororitas and Drukhari – alongside a 32-page campaign book packed with datasheets, missions, Crusade rules, and Theatre of War rules for urban arenas. There’s also the story behind the campaign, as Lelith Hesperax murders her way through Battle Sisters.

On the Sororitas side, you’ll find an Immolator, five Retributors armed with heavy weapons and accompanied by Armorium Cherubs, and a new hero, a Palatine, who comes with new head and weapon options.

The Drukhari Army, on the other hand, is Lelith Hesperax alongside ten Wyches, five winged Scourges, and a Venom. Which is a convenient set up for the new Codex Drukhari:

This book lets you use your collection of Kabals, Wych Cults, and Haemonculus Covens in realspace raids across tabletops everywhere. It has everything you’d expect from a codex – datasheets for the entire Drukhari range, extensive background, gorgeous art, army-wide abilities, a miniatures showcase, and, of course, bespoke Crusade rules for your xenos raiders. It’s simply a must-have for any fan of the Drukhari – and it includes a code to unlock all the rules from the book in Warhammer 40,000: The App.

And of course, you’ll be able to supplement the release with a new Combat Patrol box:

Combat Patrol: Drukhari is themed around the Kabals, with an Archon leading 10 Kabalite Warriors and five Incubi into battle. Every raid needs speed and firepower, and that’s where the Raider and Ravager come in.

And let’s not forget the pre-order release of Act 1 of War Zone Charadon: the Book of Rust.

This campaign book tells the story of the Death Guard invasion of the Charadon sector, home to the vital forge world Metalica. Led by Typhus himself, the followers of Nurgle swarm across the sector, with the Imperium’s defenders standing against them and the piratical Drukhari taking advantage of the anarchy to plunder and pillage.

As well as the epic narrative, the book includes three codex supplements for the forge world Metalica, Imperial Knights House Raven, and the Drukhari Cult of Strife. There are also three Armies of Renown, forces which trade off restrictions in unit choices for additional benefits, including new Warlord Traits, Relics, Stratagems, and even Psychic Powers. The book includes Armies of Renown for the Adeptus Mechanicus, Death Guard, and Imperial Knights.

For players who like to string their games together with a narrative, a new campaign system provides loads of ideas for creating your own awesome story. This can be used alongside the three Legendary Missions and an extensive suite of Crusade rules that can be mixed and matched with those across other publications.

And accompanying all of this is a new set of Crusade rules with 24 new Crusade missions, as well as a suite of Agendas, Requisitions, and Stratagems.

All this, next week!
