The TVA isn’t screwing around anymore.

Loki picks up after that one scene in Avengers: Endgame when Tony gets hulk smashed and Loki gets his hands on the tesseract aka the space stoneAs is his nature, he gets into mischief that breaks reality. Eventually, the Time Variance Authority catches up with him and charges Loki with fixing portions of the sacred timeline that he’s broken.

The latest trailer gives us more time with Miss Minutes and her sweet southern accent. Plus a brief moment of almost naked Loki eye candy for his fans.

Things are getting serious in the Null-Time Zone dimension – the time-neutral dimension that the TVA resides in. This glimpse reminds us that this isn’t just about Mobius and Loki joking around, or endless bureaucracy. The TVA can change and “discontinue” timelines (and people), which pretty much erases them from history. Their job is to monitor all realities in the multiverse and keep the timeline in order – a timeline that Loki has messed up royally.

Is it me or does the thing the space lizards (aka Time-Keepers) are holding up look like the big arc reactor from Iron Man?

We are following the trickster through time and multiple dimensions as he tries to fix it. There looks like some remnants of locations (and maybe a person – that bob looks familiar) in the Infinity Saga in there, as well as many new places – including what looks to be an early aughts era electronics store. While WandaVision limited itself to a town, Loki is taking us everywhere.

I can’t help but wonder if this isn’t just fixing the TVA timeline and that this is Loki’s send-off. His chance to fix his personal mistakes and reverse his betrayals on a timeline that he creates. We’ll see how it all plays out next month.

Tom Hiddleston returns as the God of Mischief and is joined by Owen Wilson as Mobius, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Sophia Di Martino, Wunmi Mosaku, and Richard E. Grant. Michael Waldron (Rick and Morty, Harmon Quest) is the lead writer in the series.

Loki premiers on Disney+ June 9th.
