D&D: Feywild Cover Leaked, What We Know So Far About The Next Two Books

Over the weekend details about the next two D&D books leaked, previewing adventures in the Feywild and Magic’s Strixhaven. Here’s what we know.

Big news broke over the weekend with the reveal of two new books ahead of schedule on Amazon. Thanks to that retail machine’s unending need to let people purchase things as early as possible, the product pages have gone up ahead of the big D&D Live event that would announce what’s next for the venerable roleplaying franchise. Of course, details are a little sketchy right now as the products have just been announced (but you can expect to see more this week, if not later today), but about twelve hours after the news broke, the cover for one of the books leaked as well on Fantasy Grounds.

Up there you’re looking at the big “summer adventure” The Wild Beyond the Witchlight: A Feywild Adventure, which has already been teased in the “secrets the Dark Lords don’t want you to know” part of WotC’s recent product blog:

Isolde, leader of the Carnival, has ties to more than one group of otherworldly entertainers. What could have become of her former crew?

This has also been teased in the new Feywild focused Unearthed Arcana we saw back in March. So you can expect to see otherworldly carnivals and presumably the new take on hobgoblins as well as rabbitfolk and owlfolk and the like. Let’s take a look.

The Wild Beyond the Witchlight: A Feywild Adventure – $49.95

The Wild Beyond the Witchlight is D&D’s next big adventure storyline that brings the wicked whimsy of the Feywild to fifth edition for the first time. Tune into D&D Live 2021 presented by G4 on July 16 and 17 for details including new characters, monsters, mechanics, and story hooks suitable for players of all ages and experience levels.

We’ll likely see four new races: hobgoblins, rabbitfolk, owlfolk, and pixies. And presumably new magics, new subclasses, and more. But let’s leave the Feywild behind for now, and take a look at the next book, Curriculum of Chaos, which takes place in the Magic: the Gathering setting, released earlier this year, Strixhaven.

Curriculum of Chaos – $49.95

Curriculum of Chaos is an upcoming D&D release set in the Magic: The Gathering world of Strixhaven. Tune into D&D Live 2021 presented by G4 on July 16 and 17 for details including new character options, monsters, mechanics, story hooks, and more!

This is fantastic timing on both counts. Strixhaven must have been designed for D&D from the outset, which explains a lot of the lore behind it. It’s not just a Magic setting featuring a magic university and professors and students, but it’s also designed to be a D&D setting with all of those things. You can be sure there will be a primer on running wizarding school themed adventures in the book, but you’ll also get a look at some of the new kinds of magic, like Inklings and the like. For more, you can check out the setting.

In the meantime, get ready to summer in the Feywild.

Happy Adventuring!
