Jul 22 2021

Critical Role’s epic world is back with a brand new book from Darrington Press: Tal’Dorei Campaign Setting Reborn–come and take a look.

If there’s one thing Critters love more than anything else, it’s the memories of their first brush with Critical Role. Before there were Amazon specials and months worth of content to listen to, before the sets and the merch, there was the world of Tal’Dorei, a homebrewed world exhaustively created by Matt Mercer and expanded on over the course of the game. It resonated so well with folks that they already released one book (now out of print) and are set to release another:

It’s true, thanks to Critical Role’s publishing imprint, Darrington Press, the setting of Campaign 1 is back with a brand new book: Tal’Dorei Campaign Setting Reborn. You could probably just call it Tal’Dorei Reborn for short–but this book gathers together and updates the continent of Tal’Dorei:

This definitive sourcebook brings the locations, people, creatures, and character options of Critical Role’s Tal’Dorei to your gaming table, complete with 5th edition stats for new magic items, subclasses, and even the members of Vox Machina. Whether you’re a fan of the original sourcebook or are totally new to Tal’Dorei, this book is for you.

This new sourcebook, available in either late 2021 or early 2022 seeks to be the ‘definitive compendium’ for all things Tal’Dorei, nearly doubling the page count of the old book and adding in tons of new content, including freshly crafted creatures, subclasses, magic items, and more designed for the 5th edition ruleset.

What’s more, the timeline of the world has been advanced two decades into the future, adding bringing it in line with the same timeline as the Mighty Nein, so you can see how the events of campaign 1 (and a bit of campaign 2) have changed the landscape. Here’s a look at everything in the new book.

How will you shape the future of Tal’Dorei? The land’s fate is in your hands.

The new book is due out in late 2021/early 2022and will be first available at Critical Role shops and stores that have joined the Darrington Press Guild program, followed by a wider release two weeks later.
