Warhammer 40k Cosplay: All is Dust – The Thousand Sons

5 Minute Read
Jul 12 2021

The Changer of Ways brings you this Thousand Sons cosplay, the Twisting Path demands checking it out!

Warhammer 40k has always been the core of our coverage. The cosplays that come out of the 40k universe are dynamic, visual, and ALWAYS exceptional. It has a large and dedicated fanbase, and the cosplays from 40k are instantly recognizable across the globe. This week, it’s all about the  Warhammer 40k Thousand Sons Cosplay!

Most Warhammer 40k Cosplays are Space Marines of every chapter and allegiance. While we get a sporadic Ork or Eldar from time to time, the Space Marines are the core of Warhammer 40k lore, and it is always impressive to see them stomping around in the wild. This week, however, we have a fresh new take on the classic Space Marine, from Cosplayer Lena Rybakova. She has reimagined the Space Marine for a more elegant frame, creating a gorgeous and sleek Thousand Sons Cosplay that is a perfect marriage of the Sisters of Battle aesthetic and the ass-kickery of the Space Marine.

“The only good is knowledge, the only evil is ignorance.” -Ahriman

“And what are the achievements of your fragile Imperium? It is a corpse rotting slowly from within while maggots writhe in its belly. It was built with the toil of heroes and giants, and now it is inhabited by frightened weaklings to whom the glories of those times are half-forgotten legends. I have forgotten nothing and my wisdom has expanded far beyond mere mortal frailties.” -Ahriman

“Please forgive me the horror we both know you will make me put you through.” -Ahriman

“Knowledge is power, and with the key to the Black Library I shall claim it all.” -Ahriman

“If the path to salvation leads through the halls of purgatory, then so be it.” -Ahriman

This was my hand! It was ripped from my wrist three tithes ago in the teeth of a forging press. Our oppressors seared my severed stump so that I could remain at my station without bleeding to death. But look upon my hand now, sisters and brothers! It has regrown, and with more fingers than I could ever have hoped for. It is a blessing from the Great Saviour, and such blessings can be yours also. All that is required of you is faith.”  -Sermon in the Sump

“The minds of gods are not for mortals to know or to judge. Accept that Tzeentch has a place for all of us in his grand scheme, and be happy in the part you have to play.” -Magnus the Red

Do you remember what you said to me, brother? Do you remember what you said to me as we fought before the Pyramid of Photep? Do you remember the words you used? I do. As I recall, your face was tortured. Imagine that – the Master of the Wolves, his ferocity twisted into grief. And yet you still carried out your duty. You always did what was asked of you. So loyal. So tenacious. Truly you were the attack dog of the Emperor. You took no pleasure in what you did. I knew that then, and I know it now. But all things change, my brother. I’m not the same as I was, and you’re… well, let us not mention where you are now.”
– Magnus the Red to a statue of Leman Russ, during the Battle of the Fang

The minds of gods are not for mortals to know, or to judge. Accept that Tzeentch has a place for all of us in his grand scheme, and be happy in the part you have to play.” — Proclamation of Magnus the Red

The knowledge of sorcery is like sea water, the more that is drunk, the thirstier the drinker becomes, and the more surely they are poisoned.

 — Attributed to Kva ‘He who is Divided’, Caster of Runes, Space Wolves Legion

This is not over. Blood of Fenris is on your hands, and there will be a reckoning between us, Magnus. This I swear upon the blade of Mjalnar.

Leman Russ, Primarch of the Space Wolves, to his brother Magnus the Red, during the conclusion of the Heliosa campaign

The warriors of the Corpse God believe themselves to be strong – but we have seen a greater truth. Their empire is built upon sinking sand, and they themselves are naught but clay. By Tzeentch’s will we have been shown the power to mould their weak minds and bodies to our liking.

—Nezchad Aratos, Arch Magister of the Warp Gheists
