It’s been over a month now – so where are the FAQs for the Stormcast Eternals and Kruleboyz?

Last month we saw the release of the new Stormcast Eternals and Orruk Warclans Battletomes. It was a good time to pick-up those armies and it still is as they are still getting loads of releases (including this weekend’s pre-orders). However, it’s been over a month since we got a crack at their books and folks are starting to wonder…where are the FAQs at?

While GW did put out a massive FAQ for all the existing books not too long ago, these two battletomes were the first of the “new” style 3.0 books. Previously, GW had been very on top of FAQs in terms of updates as we typically would receive an errata/FAQ within a couple of weeks after the book hit shelves. But we’re pushing beyond 4 weeks at this point and fans are starting to run into some issues.

Now some of this could just be a factor of delays caused by everything happening in the world. Obviously all the models for both these factions aren’t even fully available. The most egregious example being the double dragon bros that have been pushed until December. If you were waiting on those model hopefully they arrive in time for Christmas (or sooner).

And GW is just now getting out some of the more ranged options for the Kruleboyz which opens up a whole new world of options for that army. Shooting from Orruks that could actually be effective AND deadly? Yeah, get ready for that.

Sure, some of the models for this army are available through the Dominion boxes but it was still missing pieces. And while you could do some play-testing, you really couldn’t see how those armies would compete in a major event. Maybe GW is delaying the FAQs for these books until the models get released to the masses and players actually get to use ALL the pieces to see what’s actually in need of fixing.

The point is that the FAQs are feeling late to the party. The books have been in player’s hands for 4 weeks and questions are popping up. The delay could be because the rest of their respective armies still haven’t arrived. The delay could be for other unknown reasons. Whatever the case it would be nice to hear SOMETHING about them from GW – either that they are holding off on releasing them until the rest of the models arrive or if they are just planning on pushing out FAQs later for AoS releases.

If I were GW, I’d push out an FAQ to answer the questions that have popped-up around the AoS Community. There are some timing questions and other various rules interactions that really could use some attention (looking at you cycle of the storm). There’s no reason that GW can’t update the rules now and then also later when player get their hands on the rest of the models. In fact, I think players would actually appreciate MORE attention and updates vs the more hands-off approach. Here’s hoping that those FAQs are just sitting on ice for now and will get released sooner rather than later.
