New behind-the-scenes looks and clues about what’s in store for Amazon’s Wheel of Time series.

The road to an adaptation of Robert Jordan’s beloved high-fantasy novels started over twenty years ago. Now, fans only have one month till the long-awaited Wheel of Time streaming series premieres on Amazon.

Set in a sprawling, epic world where magic exists and only certain women are allowed to access it, the story follows Moiraine, a member of the incredibly powerful all-female organization called the Aes Sedai, as she arrives in the small town of Two Rivers. There, she embarks on a dangerous, world-spanning journey with five young men and women, one of whom is prophesied to be the Dragon Reborn, who will either save or destroy humanity.

The latest sneak peek gives a behind the scenes look at the series with on set clips…

Everything we’ve seen so far points to a production that takes to heart the size of this universe and the story being told. If Amazon wants to corner the high-fantasy TV audience and prove they can make something that rivals Game of Thrones, this is a good way to start. We can hope that the money being spent on the Lord of the Rings series will turn out looking at least this fantastic.

Which Books Will Be Included in the Series?

In order to give the story a more organic flow, the series will blend the fifteen books instead of chopping it into a season per book. And for a story this size, that’s the right choice. Season 1 will have eight episodes that will include parts of books one, two, and three.

Given the footage and images they’ve shown, there will be a lot of The Eye of the World. Amazon has shared the titles of the first six episodes:

  • “Leavetaking”
  • “Shadow’s Waiting”
  • “A Place of Safety”
  • “The Dragon Reborn”
  • “Blood Calls Blood”
  • “The Flame of Tar Valon”

Any thoughts on what those might mean?

‘The Wheel of Time’ arrives on Amazon Prime on November 19th.
