What’s in the scabbard? Take a look at the latest Rumor Engine and you can guess for yourself.

It’s Tuesday which means it’s time for another installment of the Rumor Engine from Games Workshop. This one is looking pretty sleek and stylish. But before we get into what it could be, you should probably have a look already.

“If we seem excited this week it’s because we’ve finally figured out how the Rumour Engine works. Have a gander at this picture and then we’ll explain it all.”

Alright folks, start your guessing engines. Right off the bat we can tell we’re looking at a blade in a scabbard with a very fancy tassel. Furthermore, it’s probably twin blades based on the matching scabbard under the first. And is that a big gem in the middle of the two scabbards? Could that be a soulstone, perhaps?

I’d put that one on a definite “maybe” for sure.

There’s also the Harlequins and Ynnari to choose from as well — so lots of possible options there. That doesn’t answer who exactly it could be. Alternatively, let’s not forget about all the Aelves of the Mortal Realms either. They also like their ornate weapons, too. And we’ve been hoping to see more of the Umbraneth (aka Shadowkin Aelves) as well.

The point is this one is pretty ambiguous. And it turns out Games Workshop finally figured out why, too:

“We thought the Engine itself was mangling the images all this time, but it turns out that whoever’s feeding them in is cutting out most of the model on purpose!”

It all makes so much more sense now. With that uh…massive reveal, I think we’re going to have to assume there’s a lot more to this model than meets the eye. In the meantime, I’m turning this one over to you Internet Detectives. If you’ve got a theory then drop us a line in the comments and let us know what you think it could be! That’s part of the fun of Tuesdays and the Rumor Engine.

What if it’s NOT an Aeldari or Aelves?
