Age of Sigmar: New Akhelian Thrallmaster Model And Rules
The Fury of the Deep brings a new character for the Idoneth Deepkin. Meet the Akhelian Thrallmaster.
There is a new Battlebox coming to Warhammer: Age of Sigmar that pits the Idoneth Deepkin against the Fyreslayers. Both sides are getting some new heroes and today we’re getting a closer look at the Akhelian Thrallmaster.
“A Thrallmaster can roam far and wide in search of fresh soul-matter, mastering the pelagic lore of the ocean’s currents. Many will tame vicious sea creatures like the Snapjaw Eel, and even tattoo themselves with tidal maps to prove their navigational skills.”
These Thrallmasters are typically societal outcasts by choice or not. That affords them the freedom to roam around deep and become a raider. Typically they gather some Namarti underlings to accompany them.
What’s really neat is how this lore is reflected in their rules. The Thrallmasters get access to a wide array of weaponry and can swap styles as they advance on their foes.
The ability to choose which option you need at the start of the combat phase makes this character really flexible. It’s also great that it impacts friendly Namarti units wholly within 12″ as well. That can make your units extra deadly or add in some survivability depending on what you need at the time.
This character is a natural leader for your Namarti Thralls. Load up on the extra accuracy, extra hits, or extra defense to get the most out of these warriors.
