D&D: WizKids Unveils Stranger Things Minis – ‘Heroes of Hellfire’
WizKids just revealed a new spate of miniatures to go along with the upcoming D&D Stranger Things boxed set. Meet the Heroes of Hellfire.
Last week we learned that there’s a new Stranger Things boxed set coming to D&D. Titled Welcome to the Hellfire Club, it is a look into the “lost adventures” of Eddie Munson, one of the breakout characters of Season 4 of Stranger Things. Today, WizKids unveiled a new set of Stranger Things minis that looks like it may well have come from the TV series, including a miniature of Will the Wise, (Will’s wizard) and a Vecna miniature that is plastic, but has been painted to look pewter for nostalgia reasons.

Personally, I think the “pewter” Vecna is hilarious. And also, weirdly enough, tabletop accurate. If you’ve played D&D with unpainted miniatures you know how it goes. It’s the PCs with custom miniatures that get painted. Meanwhile, they face off unpainted hordes of orcs, goblins, spiders that represent dire wolves, and the occasional big dragon miniature that might have been pre-painted.
DMs just don’t have the time to paint miniatures. And that’s the only reason mine remain unpainted. Regardless, it’s not just the pewter Vecna. You get miniatures of all the characters we see in the show, meaning you can play as the Stranger Things PCs while you play through the Stranger Things boxed set.

Stranger Things season 5, of course, premieres in November, so look for all this around then!
