LEGO: ‘My Neighbor Totoro’ and Other Anime Favorites Join IDEAS 10K Club
Build the Sailor Scouts, the Fire Nation’s capital city, Chiikawa, and Totoro with these anime-inspired LEGO IDEAS sets.
My Neighbor Totoro
Everyone’s favorite mori no nushi waits in the rain for the bus in this build. He’s joined on the platform by two forest spirits. There are several Totoro sets in the 10k club right now. I like this one because it’s not cluttered and it has a lack of visible pegs. You can keep up with its progress here.
Chiikawa
These kawaii creatures have captured the hearts of fans all over the globe. This LEGO anime set includes Chiikawa, Hachiware, and Usagi minifigs that can hang out in a brick-built cozy home, hideout, or ramen shop. You can also build their pal Anoko and a mini car. I’ve never seen the show, and I want to build this. It’s super cute.
This endlessly adorable set has joined the 10K club and is in review.
Avatar: The Day of Black Sun
Allies from across the Four Nations invade the Fire Nation’s capital in this set inspired by The Day of Black Sun. The set includes:
- A full cast of 14 characters
- Appa, Avatar Aang’s sky bison (minifig scale)
- A removable façade, revealing the Fire Lord’s Throne Room inside
- A removable central tower, making the Throne Room easily accessible from above
- A secret bunker for Fire Lord Ozai
- A prison cell for Uncle Iroh with a function to collapse the bars
- A detailed recreation of exterior details, from the angled towers to the gold accents along the roof
Sailor Moon
They stand for love and justice, and with this set, you’ll be able to build them from LEGO bricks. Sailor Moon, Sailor Mercury, Sailor Mars, Sailor Jupiter, and Sailor Venus are all represented in this 2,416 piece set. All of the figures are fully articulated and can hold poses for display alongside Luna the cat and a logo plaque.

Naruto Ichiraku Ramen Shop
The favorite ramen shop from the “Land of Waves” arc of Naruto’s original series, just before the “Chunnin exams” arc. I’ll admit I’m not super familiar with the series, but I’m really digging the look of this LEGO anime set and the obvious care put into it.
With around 1600 pieces, 8 minigures and a complete set of accessories, this set reproduces with an extraordinary level of detail Ichiraku Ramen Shop, one of the most iconic buildings of Konoha. The main floor contains the kitchen and the restaurant (just a bar with 4 seats). As the upper part of the building has been never shown in the anime, we have converted it in Teuchi’s apartment, with a little bedroom and a bathroom. It can be accessed through the stairs at the back side of the building.

MS-06 ZAKU II
Gunpla meets LEGO in this take on Zeon’s old reliable during the One Year War. This mobile suit has joint articulation, so it can be posed in various dynamic stances. Creator yama-mo-c suggests that the set be made in multiple colors and offer weapon choices so fans can create their own unique Zaku. I agree.
Don’t let the Earth Federation win…
