Celebrate Favorite Hobbies With The Latest LEGO IDEAS Challenge – Final Vote
The latest LEGO challenge mashes up bricks and favorite hobbies—including building miniatures. These sets just need your vote!
This LEGO IDEAS challenge tasks builders with creating a set inspired by their favorite ways to spend downtime with 200-250 pieces. Fifteen finalists have been chosen; make sure to cast your vote by August 20th—that’s tomorrow!
When you get a little downtime, there’s nothing better than spending it doing something you love. So, what is it that makes you feel alive and makes your soul sing? It’s time to show us your perfect pastime – and the entry selected as the Grand Prize for this challenge will see their entry made into a LEGO Ideas Gift with Purchase set.
These are my six favorites—make sure you check out all of the finalists before you make your choice.
LEGO Collector’s Room
There has to be a meta set, and this 249-piece creation is it. The diorama includes a table to build on, plenty of storage for bricks and manuals, plus several nods to LEGO Classic Space. There’s even a shelf of completed cars and what looks to be all builders’ ever present backlog still in boxes.
Plants ‘N’ Vinyl
For the music lovers who enjoy downtime with some treats and their favorite records. This 250-piece set includes:
- A vinyl record display shelf to show off the classics (and the rarities)
- Two massive floorstanding speakers
- A storage cabinet able to store up to 17 records and a stereo system
- A record player with a vinyl record stand to showcase what’s currently playing
- Four unique plants to add a sense of coziness
The Revenge of the Brick Separator
Grab a snack and settle in for a showing of the action packed sequel to ‘The Brick Separator’—orange and green battle it out in the big city on the screen. Build your own mini movie theater with cushy seats, a old school film projector, and a snack counter.
Build, Paint and Play!
LEGO minifigs become miniature models with this set. Cut the pieces free from the sprue, choose from two head options, glue the pieces together, and paint the minifig however you want. There are even bits to make a round display base… not sure about the mm size on that, though.
