Huge LEGO ‘LotR’ Minas Tirith Has Over 100,000 Pieces And A Massive Orc Minifig Army
This massive LEGO Minas Tirith is built from thousands of pieces and includes several complete armies of minifigs ready for an epic siege.
Minas Tirith, the White City, The Tower of Guard. Capital of the realm of Gondor and seat of the Stewards. There are a few more iconic locations in the Lord of the Rings setting, and a few more striking and beautiful.
Built by the survivors of Numenor as a fortress. Over time, it evolved into a major city and the capital of the southern realm of Gondor. By the time of The Lord of the Rings, it was the most important city in the world and the major bastion protecting the free peoples from the might of Mordor.
It is also the setting for a good section of the books, featuring the pivotal siege of Gondor and the Battle of Pelennor Fields. But look, if you are a LoTR fan, I don’t really need to tell you what Minas Tirith is, do I?
Huge LEGO Minis Tirith with ALL of the Orcs
Today, we are taking a look at a stunning LEGO Minas Tirith build. Built by The Lord of the Bricks, this MOC has over 100,000 pieces and appears to reside in their attic. It’s absolutely massive, rising several feet into the air (and that’s without the Tower of the Steward and other buildings on top!). While the city itself is super impressive, you’ve also got massive armies (complete with flying Fellbeasts and siege gear) surrounding it. And sometimes even a cat!
Against the power of Cat, there can be no victory.
This build is based on the Peter Jackson movie version and looks fantastic. You can make out all seven levels of the city with plenty of buildings and towers built into it. The walls and fields are there as well. The actual building section appears to have been designed by Stefano Mapelli, and you can find more details on how to build your own here.
What really elevates it, and where Lord of The Bricks has made it their own, is in the mini-figs and armies. There are a massive number of figs in this build. You’ve got the serried ranks of Orcs and other servants of the Eye. You’ve got siege towers and even the massive ram Grond, Hammer of the Underworld! Fellbeasts swoop and strike, and massive Mumakil stomp around. You’ve even got Théoden King and the Rohirrim arriving to save the day. It’s got it all!

Here, you can see another version of the city build without mini-figs.

Here are a few of my favorite parts of the build and the battle!

I’m pretty sure that legally, I can’t talk about this MOC without also sharing this video. It’s just the law, man.
Barad-Dûr LEGO Set
The 5,471-piece build is one of the best Lord of the Rings LEGO sets. It’s split into four main sections; the tower section is fully modular. The dark tower features a throne room containing a map and a ladder to the top floor. The 4th floor is home to Mouth of Sauron’s study, while the 5th floor houses a tower library with a rotating ladder. At the summit of the tower is the Eye of Sauron, which rotates in various directions and features a light brick to make the eye glow.
There are also 10 minifigures, including Sauron, Mouth of Sauron, Orcs, Frodo, Sam, Gollum, and Gothmog.
