LEGO: Seven Of The Coolest ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’ Ships To Defend or Destroy The Republic With
Take to space with some of the coolest LEGO Star Wars sets featuring ships from the Prequels and Clone Wars.
LEGO Star Wars has a long history of putting out amazing kits. Over the years, they’ve only really gotten better, with an amazing number of great kits you can buy on the market. You have some really amazing kits featuring every faction imaginable, like the Empire and Rebels.
However, their sets are not limited to the Original Trilogy. Indeed, the very first LEGO Star Wars sets came out alongside The Phantom Menace and covered the Prequels. Without the Prequels, we might not have any Star Wars LEGOs at all! So today, let’s take a look at some of the best spaceships from the Prequels/Clone Wars Era of Star Wars we’ve gotten in LEGO.

Sith Infiltrator – 1999 (7151-1)
Speaking of those very first sets, we’ve got one of the OG sets, the Sith Infiltrator. This is a pretty simple set with Maul and his ship in a very blocky form. It’s been remade a few times, and the newer ones arguably look better. But this set holds a very special place for me as the very first Star Wars LEGO set I had. I also kind of love the retro blocky look. This is a set that looks like it’s LEGO, but still shows off the potential of the line.
The Infiltrator did have some fun play features, from hidden hatches to Maul and his speeder fitting in the back. Things have come a long way since 1999, but this was an amazing starting point for the line. (Fun fact: You can still download the building instructions.)
The Malevolence (9515-1)
Next up, we’ve got 2012’s The Malevolence. It’s not the most popular Star Wars ship, which is likely why this was the only set it ever got. Still, I always love seeing big ships get LEGO kits and the Malevolence is just such a different looking ship from anything else you see that I find it really cool. It’s a bit of a time capsule in Star Wars and LEGO.
General Grievous’s Starfighter (75286)
Speaking of unique-looking ships, we’ve got General Grievous’s Star Fighter. I’ve always loved the design of this fighter. It’s not quite like the other ships we see, but it has a really cool, almost retro look to it.
Look, I’m a sucker for something that looks different and isn’t the 12th Jedi Star Fighter set to come out! The Grievous mini-fig you get with the set is also nice and gives you everything you need to refit the final Kenobi/Grevious fight!
Bonus-Naboo Starfighter – Mini Polybag – (30383)
There isn’t a whole lot to say about this mini 48-part kit other than that I love it. I think it’s one of the best-looking minis out there and really captures the look of the fighter. It’s also really fun to woosh around. The BOLS office has had one flying around it for years.
Republic Gunship UCS (75309)
Ah here we go, the UCS ships. No one can doubt that these tend to be the biggest and coolest ones around. The Clone Wars era is a bit under represented in UCS, but it does get some cool things. They’ve made a number of the Gunships in various configurations, but obviously the USC one is the best.
It’s a huge build that looks great. The size of it really lets you see the interior and how open it is as a transport – it can fit an army of battle droid minifigs in its hanger. It’s just a really cool design and an amazing build.
Jango Fett’s Firespray-Class Starship
This one is a bit of a of a two-for-one. We’ve got a classic ship in Jango Fett’s Firespray-Class Starship (the Ship Formerly Known As Slave I). This ship has has several iterations over the year and strangle enough has gotten TWO just in 2025.
First up we’ve got another UCS ship with 75409-1. This is clearly the more impressive of the two and the best representation of Jango Fett’s ship we’ve ever gotten. It’s a really slick looking ship, with some nice interior bits and rocking the Episode II paint scheme. Just a cool display bit over all.

If you want something a little smaller/affordable, you can also grab the brand new 75433-1 version of TSFKASI. Obviously, this is a smaller, in many ways, downgraded ship from the UCS version. It does come with an extra mini-fig, and a super cool one at that: Lama Su.
The Jango Fett minifig is a small downgrade from the UCS version without printed arms, but the ship itself still looks pretty good. As it’s a play set, it’s got a few more playability features than the more display-oriented UCS version. It’s also one of the few times I haven’t just hated the use of stud launchers. Overall, it’s a neat kit.

Invisible Hand (75377)
Did I mention that I love when big ships get the LEGO treatment? The Invisible Hand is part of a line of big ships getting made in this… I’m not sure what scale they are calling it these days, but this is a smaller scale. Midi?
Anyway, it’s a great scale to show off big ships, and all of the sets they’ve put out has been real bangers. The Hand is a great-looking ship. Due to its size it hasn’t got a UCS LEGO set yet, so it’s super cool to see it in this scale.
It’s also great that even at this small scale, it’s got some play features. The ship is built to snap in half, just like it does in RoTS! Very cool. It’s a nice display piece and on the cheaper side of LEGO kits, giving you great bang for your buck.

Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser UCS (75367)
I mean, what could it be but this beauty? This is one of the biggest and coolest-looking Star Wars sets of all time. The UCS Venator is the centerpiece of many people’s LEGO collections. It brings the iconic ship to life in such a good way. This thing just hits. I can’t really say too much about it because it’s something you just kind of have to look at! This is the pinnacle of Star Wars LEGO, having come a long way from the old Sith Infiltrator.
This giant set includes authentic features such as a command bridge and a hangar containing a brick-built scale model of a Republic Gunship. At 43 inches long, it’s a massive model that will definitely garner attention.
