Huge Ultimate Collectors ‘Death Star’ Is The Most Expensive LEGO Set Ever
The rumors are true – the new LEGO UCS Death Star is the most expensive set the company has released to date.
Fans have gotten several LEGO Death Star sets over the years, starting with the Death Star II (10143) launched in 2005, which depicted the planet destroyer in the midst of construction. It has become a unicorn sought after by many collectors. The minifig scale second version (10188) was released three years later, prioritizing playability over aesthetics. The most recent set, released in 2016 (75159), added more than 600 pieces to the 2008 set and included a significant amount of detail.
Nearly a decade later, LEGO has announced a new set – and it’s very different from its predecessors.

Rumors of this set have been making the rounds for several months, with a lot of talk about its price point. This 9,023 piece set is $1,000. Making it the most expensive set LEGO has ever offered (the Eiffel Tower remains the largest piece count). Is it worth it? Take a look and see what you think.
