Yeah…this new Games Workshop Rumor Engine has us grasping for straws. Or I guess ribbons in this case. Good luck figuring this one out.

Apparently folks have been getting a little too close to figuring out what the Rumor Engine has been putting out. So, on this Tuesday, the Rumor Engine has a new image that is going to be extra difficult to solve. Or even have an educated guess for. But don’t take my word for it — see for yourself.

“We sometimes worry that the Rumour Engine shows a little too much, and you might actually be able to guess what the Thing of the Week is. Seriously, some of you get really close. To make sure none of that happens this week, we’re giving you perhaps the least interesting tidbit we’ve ever shown.”

Rumor Engine – Space Ribbons

To be perfectly honest, I don’t know if they are “Space Ribbons.” Or if they are even “Ribbons” to begin with. What I do know is that these look generic enough to either be 40k or AoS. That’s just one part of the problem. However, I think this Rumor Engine would best guessed by removing options first. Those Ribbons look very clean so I think we can remove any faction that’s a tad messy. The big ones that come to my mind are Orks and most of Chaos. And also basically the Destruction and Death factions from AoS, too. They also don’t look metal or organic so I think we’re safe to remove Necrons and Tyranids.

These ribbons look neat and orderly. But not super fancy. I was thinking something from the Xeno, but the Aeldari’s ribbons are a tad more intricate. They are also wider and a little flatter.

Fuegan’s are close though. So I don’t want to rule them out completely just yet. That said, another feature of these ribbons is that they appear to be in a pair. There’s another miniature that has them as well.

Commander Farsight has a similar motif on this kit, too. Maybe that’s another hint. But what about the Mortal Realms? There’s some candidates there also.

The Lumineth Realm-lords tie ribbons to their kit. Lyrior above is a good example with the ones on the lance. There are also other Vanari units that have them on their miniatures and other units still that have them on their banners. However, none of them are painted the same as the one from the Rumor Engine.

I’m sure there’s ones I’m missing, too. That’s where you come in. If you’ve got any suggestions or ideas where these ribbons could be from, even if it’s just a faction, drop us a line in the comments. I’m curious what you think this one could be. Right now I’m at a loss for this Rumor Engine.

Simple, elegant, thick ribbons? They kind of remind me of a martial artist’s belt.
