Warhammer: Horus Heresy – New FAQs And Errata Updates Out Now
The Horus Heresy just received a MASSIVE 3rd Edition wave of FAQs and Errata. Your army will be impacted by these changes.
Games Workshop has reviewed and updated just about every army with the new Horus Heresy FAQs. There is a batch of changes/clarifications in the Core Rules that will have an affect on your games. A few of the main changes include an update to the Vanguard special rule, flyers, and templates. And those are just in the Core Rules.
GW touched on the Talons of the Emperor, Inductii and Militia. They even went into Legacy units, too! It’s a huge batch of updates to the game.
“The FAQs focus on how certain situations interact with the Vanguard (X) Special Rule, when particular aftermath options can be selected, and certain Vehicle Shooting Attacks. They also outline that – as with all Shooting Attacks made as part of a Reaction – Glancing Hits inflicted by Reactions can’t apply Tactical Statuses.
For the errata, updated Rulebook entries cover Flyer mechanics, wound allocation to Models with the Paragon Type, and rework Psychic Curses to make use of the Resistance Checks instead of Manifestation Checks. In addition, the Template Special Rule has an update to clarify the range of attacks when using the Hellstorm Template.
AdvertisementErratas to the various Libers further implement Resistance Checks for Psychic Curses, and Legiones Astartes’ Moritats gain the Bitter Duty Special Rule, ensuring they can join Destroyer Units. For Liber Auxilia, the exact mechanics of the Fire Support! Advanced Reaction have been tweaked, while in Liber Mechanicum the Arcuitor Magisterium gains some additional weapon options to better match its miniature.”

This is the main chunk of the Errata/Rules updates. There’s also an additional Rules Commentary as well as an FAQ section that clarifies quite a few other rules, too.
As you can see above, there’s a TON of things that got touched on within the Core Rules – twelve pages worth. Be sure to read them carefully or better yet download the document and read it in its entirety. You’re going to want to be update to date on these rules if you’re playing Horus Heresy.
The final batch of FAQs & Errata apply to the Legacy Factions and units. From mighty Custodes to the Imperial Militia , there are quite a few units that have received updates.

With all these updates it’s safe to say that the entire game just got an update. Lots of these changes might be clarifications or minor tweaks but they are changes nonetheless. If you’re playing Horus Heresy we highly encourage you to download these documents and read the updates. Obviously, the core rules and your respective army should be your main priority.
