The two upcoming Forgotten Realms books have hit delays in the European and Asian-Pacific markets, though digital release is still on track.

With both Forgotten Realms: Heroes of Faerun and Forgotten Realms: Adventures in Faerun set to release tomorrow, WotC announced delays over the weekend for the European and Asian releases of the physical books. The two upcoming books have had their window pushed back to December 12th and early next year, per an announcement on D&D Beyond.

Faerun Books Delayed, But Not Forgotten

This is not the first batch of release date delays that WotC has faced for books this year, even. You might recall that Eberron: Forge of the Artificer was pushed back to December across the world, owing to a printer issue. But, per an announcement on D&D Beyond, the upcoming Forgotten Realms books are now slated to release about a month after the initial window.

The North American release is unaffected. At press time, the current release window for the EMEA region is slated for the UK and EU on December 12th. Meanwhile, the APAC region has a much longer window for a physical release, with Australia & New Zealand looking to see the books sometime in early January, Singapore & Malaysia in late January, and Indonesia, Philippines, & Thailand in early February.

There are no specific details as to the reason for these delays, at least as far as printing issues go. Though WotC has posted that shipping challenges are to blame at least in part for shipping to the Asia Pacific region:

“Last year, we shared that shipping challenges in the Asia Pacific region had caused release date delays to several D&D titles in 2024. Looking forward, we recognized that these delays were more systematic and ongoing, and so we announced that we would be releasing our 2025 D&D titles slightly later in the Asia Pacific region than elsewhere. The goal here is to avoid disruption caused by last-minute delay messages and make sure fans and stores have a clear picture of when they should look for these titles.”

There’s a similar message from WotC about “putting systems in place” to assuage EMEA delays as well. Though, no clear indication of what those systems are. For now, though, fans in either region can still find the digital versions of the books immediately, as that release window hasn’t changed at all.

And Forge of the Artificer seems to still be on track for its APAC release, though WotC has stated it will “advise on the status of [the EMEA] release closer to its expected launch on December 9th.” In the meantime, the Forgotten Realms books are set to hit digital shelves everywhere tomorrow.
