We’ve got a new Rumor Engine to theorize about today. Say hello to a brand new teaser from Games Workshop. This one is powered by beetles!

Well, not really powered by… But this beetle-slug-sprite thing is the star of the show today. Anyhow, welcome to another Tuesday and a brand new Rumor Engine. Let’s just get right to the image and we’ll talk about what it could be down below!

“Odd, we asked the Rumour Engine for something cool this week, and all we got was this instead. I guess there’s a bug in the system.

A bug.”

Rumor Engine – Beetle Sprite Time

So this is indeed a bug. Or a slug? It’s head looks like a beetle. But beetles have legs, right? I mean there’s like a million different beetle species out there so I’m really not sure. There’s probably a family of beetles that don’t have legs. If you’re an Entomologist let me know down in the comments — I’m legit curious now. (I did Google it but it only brought up beetle larvae examples.)

ANYHOW, let’s get to the guessing about what this could be. I have one strong option that keeps jumping to the top of my mind.

If this is a forest-sprite bug then it’s likely related to the Sylvaneth. They have both beetles and sprites on many of their miniatures. Shoot, some even RIDE them:

Or use them to carry their arrows into battle:

The point is that there’s a lot of various sprites on the Sylvaneth and if this IS a sprite, then that makes sense. Also it’s on a piece of wood…so there’s that, too!

Still, there’s another faction that’s pretty well associated with maggots, too. Not that this IS a maggot…but it might be? Anyhow, I think you know where I’m going with this train of thought.

The thing is that we’ve also seen the Maggotkin on deck to get a bunch of new stuff already.  So they might not be on deck for a new set of miniatures beyond those for a bit. Then again, Rumor Engines can be over a year out. And GW could have a lot of smaller releases planned in that time. Just tossing that out there.

So here is where we kick it over to you. If you’ve got any ideas on what this Rumor Engine could be drop us a line in the comments. Sylvaneth, Nurgle, or other?! Let us know what you think.

Maybe I’ll finally start that Sylvaneth army I’ve been wanting in 2026…
