The new Rumor Engine is out from Games Workshop. It looks like someone had a bit of an industrial accident.

Welcome to another Tuesday and a brand new image to tease your noodle. The Rumor Engine is here and the text is teasing a wheel of some sort. However, I’m not so sure about that. So take a look and we’ll have a chat.

“Sometimes the rumour engine presents us with an inscrutable puzzle, a snippet of a weird piece of a miniature shot from an unconventional angle that has us all scratching our heads to figure out what it is. Sometimes, though, it’s just wheely obvious.

Wheely obvious.

Nobody?”

Rumor Engine – Until The Wheels Fall Off

I can see how the wheel joke came about here. However, looking at this one a tad more, if this is a wheel, don’t think it’s a wheel for a car or vehicle. No, I think this one is actually a valve wheel handle.

It’s only got four spokes and I don’t see any nuts or bolts on this object. It’s also in a ruin/muck of some sort. And I think there’s been plenty of terrain kits that have had industrial ruins on them from GW.

In fact, I think I see a valve wheel on this image already. Let’s just see it from a different angle…

Ah-ha! Isn’t that interesting. It’s not a 1:1 image but I think we’ve got a whole lot of similarities here. The shape is similar plus the four spokes design is pretty close.

That said, I don’t think valve wheels are exclusive to 40k either.

The Kharadron Overlords are quite industrial in their steam-punk sky-pirate sort of way. The Arkanaut Frigate is a good example. There’s the door handles which are similar. Plus the Helm has a giant ship wheel, too.

My point is that the wheel (valve, ship, wagon, or other) is pretty universal. While they aren’t quite as Warhammer-related as skulls they are still all over the place. Honestly, there’s not much else to go off of for this one.

So here’s where we kick it over to you! If you’ve got any idea of what this could be drop us a line in the comments! I’m curious to see what you come up with.

Turn the valve? Hit the gas? spin the wheel? One of those should work!
