These LEGO IDEAS sets imagine the soaring temples, libraries, and armies of ancient Greece in plastic bricks.

The Erechtheion

Build a mini-scale version of the Erechtheion, an iconic piece of Classical Greek architecture and one of the temples on the Acropolis of Athens. The set recreates the Porch of the Caryatids and other features using brick colors inspired by ancient pigments and includes a courtyard with olive and cypress trees.

Built between 421 and 406 BC, the Erechtheion (Ἐρέχθειον) on the Acropolis of Athens was not dedicated to a single deity, but rather to several ancient gods and heroes central to Athenian religion and myth. It served as a multi-functional sacred complex that honored the most ancient cults of the Acropolis. According to legend, Poseidon’s struck the rock with his trident, while Athena offered the olive tree, a gift of peace and prosperity. The temple’s uneven structure reflects the rocky terrain and its sacred sites beneath.

Spartan Warrior Helmet

Comic book and sci-fi characters have gotten helmet sets; it’s time to take that idea back several centuries. This brick-built helm is inspired by the heroes and warriors of ancient Greece, particularly the Spartans. The design recreates the unmistakable silhouette of their helmets using a variety of smooth and textured pieces in golds, and it’s topped with a tall crest of brilliant red feathers.

Lakonia – Dragon Ship of Sparta

This Spartan-inspired LEGO set takes to the seas of Greece. The Lakonia: Dragon Ship of Sparta blends the look of the historical triremes and epic fantasy elements to create something new. The stern features a three-headed dragon that listens to the wind and keeps its eyes on the horizon, while the ship’s sharp prow cuts through the ocean waves. The Spartans’ shields include original art inspired by the historical warriors.

The Parthenon

This micro figure scale set pays homage to the famous marble temple, complete with a pediment featuring statues of decorated with statues dedicated to mythological aspects of Athena. While a full building is cool, I like this for its respect for display space. It features all of the artistry without a big footprint.

Mount Olympus & The Underworld

This 3,699-piece set lets you build the home of the gods of above and below. It’s not minifig scale, but it does pack in a lot of details and mythic creatures.

The Underworld, realm of Hades. Here you’ll find the River Styx, where souls must pay Charon the ferryman or wander the shores forever. The path leads to the dark gates of Hades’ fortress, guarded by the three-headed Cerberus. Behind them lies a shadowy palace, framed with fire and gloom.

The Labyrinth of Daedalus. Hidden in the opposite side of the mountain, a twisting maze awaits. Within, the fearsome Minotaur lurks. While scaled down to fit the model, I wanted to include a more recognizable Minotaur figure rather than reducing it to just a stud. The maze has an opening hinting at the dangers inside.

Temple of Zeus in Olympia

If you’re not worried about space and you want to build a temple, this is your set. This temple is inspired by the one found in Olympia and uses colors informed by archaeological data. The exterior features sturdy columns, a tiled roof, and a large brazier for offerings. The pediment shows preparations for the chariot race between Pelops and Œnomaos, and the fight between the Centaurs and the Lapiths, under the eye of Apollo, the central figure. Inside, you’ll find a statue of the Greek god of thunder on a throne.
