Star Wars: Legion – Customizable Jedi General and Knight Unboxed
It’s time to defend the Galactic Republic with the customizable Jedi General and Jedi Knight for Star Wars: Legion.
Atomic Mass Games is pushing Star Wars: Legion in an interesting direction with the new customizable characters they are offering. It feels like the game is opening up to more options and tweaking for players to find their preferred playstyle. There’s a bonus factor of getting to build out heroes that could be player stand-ins in some regard, too. It’s that personal touch that I like about these new boxed sets.
That said, AMG sent me a review copy of the new Jedi General and Jedi Knight box to check out. Now I’m really going to have to consider how to build them out so I can add them to the (apparent) Galactic Republic army I’ve got on my hands.
There’s a ton of options with this one. Dual Lightsabers or Dual-bladed lightsabers?! What to do…
Customizable Jedi General and Knight Unboxing
Starting things off, once again, we see that the contents are all in their respective baggies. The sprues are in on, as are the bases, and the cards. Now, about those cards…
You get a full play set in each of the support languages in this box. Now, if you want a close look at these cards, you can find the in the Star Wars: Legion downloads section on AMG’s website. I won’t go over each of the cards but you can see a LOT of weapon options there. There’s also a few order cards, too. This batch of cards really helps you to decide how you want to customize these characters. I think a lot of players are going to fret over what options to select — that’s kind of the point!
But hey, if you screw that up, you can always buy another box, right? Personally, I’d just tell my opponent the options I’m using to clarify if there was a difference in the miniature and the card options. I would hope folks would understand at that point. And speaking of options how about those sprues!
As you can see there’s only so many legs and torsos but a LOT of light sabers. I’m really tempted to buy an extra box of Clone Troopers and make some more “custom” Jedi running around. Why Clone Troopers? Well, I think they have the closest armor to the Jedi Generals. But these bits could also be re-used in other eras. I say have some fun with it. I’m sure some magnet fan is going to figure out a way to magnetize all these arms. But I’m not that cool. Good luck with that project though!
I really do think this box adds some great custom minis to the game and really allow players to add some of their own “flavor” to their army. I’m curious to see if AMG pushes this concept further or if they want to keep the game locked in with squad options being relatively fixed. I could see arguments for both cases. That said, I think having these custom heroes running around is just the right amount …for now.
Star Wars: Legion – Customizable Jedi General and Knight $39.99
“One of the Galactic Republic’s greatest strengths is its close alliance with the Jedi Council. While not as strong in the Force as Jedi Masters, Jedi Knight General and Jedi Knight are a far more common sight on the battlefield. However, their prevalence should not undermine their prowess with a lightsaber and their ability to bolster their allies. The Customizable Jedi General and Knight allows players to build two customized Jedi General and Knight characters that can be used as either a Commander or Operative when building their Galactic Republic armies.”
This box is already out and in stores. So get your Jedi on!
