Warhammer 40K: ‘Ferren Areios’ Gets A Miniature & New Book With ‘Master of Rites’
The Captain of the Ultramarines 6th Company is on deck to get a new novel as well as a brand new miniature. Ferren Areios joins the tabletop!
It’s always nice to see a character leap from the pages of a novel to the tabletop in Warhammer. That’s happening again with the upcoming star of the new book Master of Rites by Rob Young.
“Not content with getting a whole book to himself, the Captain of the Sixth Company is also receiving a miniature too. Striking a commanding pose, he is equipped with a thunder hammer named Honour – perfect for smashing up the putrid Death Guard – and is accompanied by a diligent servo-skull that carries an autoscribe with it, so Ferren can reliably record the martial traditions of his battle brothers, which is part of his job as Master of Rites.”
Ferren Areios, Captain of the 6th Company
If you haven’t been keeping up with the Dawn of Fire novels, that’s okay — you don’t need to have read them to appreciate this miniature. If you’re curious about Captain Areios and the Master of Rites, you can check out this video with the author:
It’s been quite a trip for Ferren Areios and the reader. Without getting into to much spoilery territory, Areios has been through the ringer. We’ve seen his induction as a new Primaris Marine in Avenging Son and his adventures as a Lieutenant in Hand of Abaddon. Let’s just say things haven’t been the smoothest for Areios. Now, as Captain of the 6th and the Master of Rites, he’s not only got more experience but he’s also having to teach the next batch of Space Marines following in his wake.
But there’s more instore for Captain Areios. Heck, there wouldn’t be much of a story there if it was easy, right? That said, we’ll have to wait to see what happens in the novel when it drops. In the meantime, there’s plenty of new Ultramarines on the way so if you want to get your Ultramarines going before Captain Arieos arrives to the tabletop, you’ve got loads to work on!
Games Workshop is really pushing the new Ultramarines Captains — I wonder what’s going on with them…
