Goatboy here with a look into GW World Championships 2025 winning 40K list from this past weekend.  This Adeptus Mechanicus list went all the way!

The World Champs was this weekend where GW had over 400 players join from all over the world in Atlanta, GA. This is a huge event with a ton of players that all had won a decent sized event and thus a Golden Ticket. A lot of friends were there and it was really neat show to see streamed.  After all the dust was settled it came down to the two “best” armies in the game currently – the buffed Adeptus Mechanicus and the always mean Xenos Aeldari.

The Aeldari was piloted by Liam Vsl from Belgium – one of the best players in the game and bringing what most considered to be one of the broken lists with an Aspect Warrior heavy host of murderers.  On the other side of the table was Richard Sieglar from Art of War and one of the best players in America right now.  He was bringing the insanely buffed up Admech army with so many bodies, wounds, and board control abilities.  On the Xenos side you have a fragile unit but extremely fast and punchy action while the other army just has 140+ wounds mixed with extreme mobility and damage potential.

Richard Sieglar took it in the end with his army that just feels like it is so over tuned you have to wonder why GW pushed it to the moon.  Just look at the sheer amount of models in the army that are over 1 wound and you can see how it would be a nightmare to chew through all of them.  The ability to have a 5+ invulnerable save and the options to just murder anything they see is a huge power for this army.  It only took a few rules rewrites to bring them to the front and most likely will have them get some significant point hits in the future.

I also expect the Aeldari to get hit as well as a ton where in the top 16 with the Ad mech options.  There is too much speed and damage potential on the tabletop so removing a unit or two would most likely bring them a bit more in line.  We’ll just have to wait and see as I am sure both of those armies are going to be looked at as the year ends.

Here is the winning list and just look at all those models. I wouldn’t want to build an army right now as I watched a bit of the game and saw those poor jump models hit the table so many times.  I would have lost so many parts after an event if I played them.

Ad-Mech World Championship 2025 List Tactics

The Unbeatable List is a ton of bodies that always have a save and even have access to Feel No Pain if something can hit them that hard.  Then it has Cawl to throw out his own rules and just Oath something into oblivion. Congratulations to Richard as he is a great player and a good representative of this game.  The team over at Art of War also put a few other players into the top 16 with John Lennon (Congrats on getting married!), the Jack Harpster, and even Nick Nanavati.  John even took 3rd place after a close loss in the Semi Finals versus Liam Vsl.

The games I got to watch were great to see and good job to Paul Murphy and Adam Camilleri for keeping it interesting.  That is a lot of Warhammer to keep talking about and you guys were excited the entire time.  Thanks again to GW for putting on a good show and pushing Competitive Warhammer.

Again congratulations to all the players that got there, and to Richard for making it to the top. BRAVO!
