Warhammer Next Week: ‘Warhammer Quest Darkwater’ And AoS ‘Blighted Wilds’
Next week a new Warhammer Quest is at hand. Descend into the Jade Abbey with some sweet new miniatures, and a new AoS narrative too.
Warhammer Quest: Darkwater is the new hotness in the Warhammer Quest world. Once again the world is beset by Chaos but this time it’s threatening the Sylvaneth’s very heart, as the forces of Nurgle, led by Gelgus Pust descend upon the Jade Abbey, home to the life-giving Everspring.
And the only hope of preventing unimaginable corruption from occurring is in the hands of a ragtag band of heroes, misfits, and outcasts. Which are, of coure, played by you and/or your friends. The new expansion is out for pre-order next week, along with a new Age of Sigmar narrative, also featuring the forces of Nurgle.
Warhammer Quest: Darkwater – Nurgle Blooms Once Again
Nurgle continues to be a big thorn in the side of these sidequest games. From Warhammer Quest to Chaos Gate: Daemonhunters, it seems Nurgle’s plagues seem perfect for amping up the growing tension of a good campaign. After all, new mutations in the plague mean enemies can keep challenging everything you know about every fight.
And in the new Warhammer Quest game, there’s ample opportunity to do just that. You can play solo or with up to three friends, in either one-off skirmishes or ongoing campaigns. Take up arms of the band of heroes facing down Nurgle’s champions:
Alongside these heroic new miniatures, you’ll also find pustulous villains in the form of Gelgus Pust, Belga the Cystwitch, Mulgoth the Cleaver, and the shaman Foulhoof. Supporting these sinister suppurating sensations, are a host of Cankerborn, Blight Templars, Pestigors, Mire Kelpies, and Pox-Wretches.
And of course you’ll get a book with all the terrain maps for your adventure, with missions outlined on encounter cards and boss encounter cards that unfold as you descend into the depths of the Jade Abbey, making for a harrowing ordeal each time you play.
Age of Sigmar – Blighted Wilds
But wait there’s more. Because this week’s pre-orders also include another Nurgle-driven supplement. Only this time it’s against the Mortal Realms as a whole, with the release of Path to Glory: Blighted Wilds.
In this new book, it’s life vs. life as Greatfather Nurgle seeks to wrest control of Ghyran from Alarielle the Everqueen. It’s a battle for (the Realm of) Life itself in Blighted Wilds. Within the book’s 90 pages, you’ll find campaign rules, new Paths for heroes and units, as well as a ton more enhancements. You can also find rules for making your own Landmark of Ghyran, or even your own Regiment of Renown.
