There were a TON of cool things shown off this weekend from the World Champs of Warhammer. Picking the top 5 is no easy feat!

By now, I hope you saw all the cool reveals from the Warhammer World Championships Preview. For me, it’s still freshly emblazoned in my brain. That said, I did get a chance to sleep on it and now I’m remembering the things that got me most hyped to see. So here’s my list of the top 5 reveals from the show. Again, I’m having to cut down to the top 5 so if you’re favorite reveal isn’t on this list it’s not because it shouldn’t be — there’s just not enough room for it all!

#5 – More Cathay On The Way

You can see all the reveals here but I think this had to be on the list. The Grand Cathay Army was far from complete and now we know why! There’s a whole bunch MORE cool units coming and they are there to fill some holes in the list. The real question is if this is the “final batch” from Cathay or will we see even more units…

#4 – Maggotkin of Nurgle Get A Massive Glow-up

The Maggotkin of Nurgle were already getting a massive spotlight thanks to the Warhammer Quest: Darkwater Reveals. However, the fact that they are ALSO getting a fresh wave of updates is pretty cool! Festus The Leechlord finally got himself a massive leech to ride and there’s just a bunch of cool new units coming. The new Blight-units are interesting to me as well. They aren’t as uh…disease-y as I was expecting. They are still pretty rotting though. Also this is a sneaky way of me getting the Darkwater reveals on the list without taking up a spot. hee-hee!

#3 – Horus Heresy – Breachers, Terminators, & Skitarii, Oh My!

When the Horus Heresy was first percolating around, I spent quite a lot of time making Cataphractii Terminators. I bought barrels and cut them down to use as shoulder pads for the old plastic Terminator kits. I even cut them out to get their proportions correct. And then GW came along years later and released their official Cataphractii and they put mine to shame. But then they had to go and up the scale and those old Cataphractii suddenly looked small.Until now.

The new Siege Assault Group is bringing them inline with the other Terminators of the Horus Heresy. Plus we’re getting plastic MK III Breachers AND a whole lot of Skitarii! It’s wild to see what GW is doing now for the Horus Heresy.

#2 Necromunda’s New Dynasty

I know not everyone is as into the Lore for Necromunda as I am. But the new book and character that’s been revealed is kind of a big deal. That’s why this is #2 on MY list of the big reveals. I would put the Legions Imperialis news here but it’s so tiny (in scale). I’m actually on the fence about the new Palanite miniatures coming as they seem kinda off. Maybe that’s because I perfer the other style of Palanite Enforcers over these Justicars. That said, Ozostium Aranthus seems like a WILD addition. I’m sure that’s going to mix things up on the lore front for sure — and I’m excited to see where that goes!

#1 – Captain Titus and the 500 Worlds

C’mon. You had to know this was coming, right? The big 40k reveals were just that — BIG. Not only is Titus back to being a Captain, he’s been charged by the Primarch Guilliman to retake the 500 worlds of Ultramar. Good luck with that one. Plus we got new Xenos characters showcased AND more Necrons on the way. This also answers the question as to what GW has planned for 40k for the short term AND why all the Ultramarine stuff was coming out.

Well, those are my top 5 reveals. What are yours? Let us know in the comments! It was a great weekend for Warhammer!

I would walk 500 worlds…
