Warhammer: The Old World – Chaos Marauders Army Reinforcements Up Close
The Old World is getting invaded by Chaos Marauders and we’ve got them up close and in the studio!
I was chatting with Abe earlier this week about the Chaos Marauder Army Reinforcement box that’s coming. I’ve been impressed with the sculpts and the price point on this one. And Abe was the lucky one that got to build them early. Thankfully he took a ton of pictures — so let’s take a closer look at the new miniatures!
Chaos Marauders
I really like the look of these miniatures. They remind me of Old School Chaos Marauders from Warhammer Fantasy…which makes a lot of sense. At the same time, I think they rank-up really well and look pretty intimidating. It’s a little bit of a bummer that as infantry they don’t have a ton of poses. But, again, you still want them to rank-up and that’s part of the trade off.
Regardless, these have a ton of bits to go around so there is a good degree of customization. You can build them with either hand weapons and shields, great weapons, or flails. They have that rugged look to them and are more than prepared to rampage across the Old World!
Chaos Marauder Horsemen
The Chaos Marauder Horsemen might be some of my favorite light calvary in all of Warhammer. I used the previous versions in my Age of Sigmar army all the time — and that’s just part of the reason I was seriously considering grabbing this army box. That said, while they don’t have a ton of sculpts, they still look great in small squads of 5. Which is probably how I’d be using them anyhow.
There’s still bits to customize them enough to make distinct squads. You can build two units of 5 from the box and each can have a full command. Or you could run them in a big block of 10. They can be armed with either shields and spears or flails as well. I can’t wait to see more of them on the tabletop!
The Chaos Marauder Army Set is up for pre-order this weekend from Games Workshop. It’s quite the deal!
