The latest Rumor Engine is here, and we’ve got some sort of a leg. Or appendage? Who can say? Let’s see if we can’t figure this one out.

It’s Tuesday, and that means it’s time for a brand new Rumor Engine. Today’s image has been explained by the WarCom team as a leg. But I think you should have a look at it before we go much further.

“Let’s cut right to the chase: we think this week’s Rumour Engine image is a leg. A fleshy, kind of drippy leg, but a leg nonetheless. See what you think.”

Rumor Engine – A Leg Up

So what are we looking at here? Well, if it is a leg, it’s very insectoid. I know that this might lead folks towards the Tyranid angle, but I don’t think that fits. The ‘Nids would have claws or tenacles or something besides this tiny leg-thing. To me, this seems more fly-like. Ya know, like Nurgle.

Here’s the problem with that: the Rumor Engine isn’t gross enough. It’s too clean. Too …healthy. So while it could be a fly or insect, I don’t know if Nurgle is the right direction either. This really reminds me of the Ambull.

Not in a direct way, but more in a “it’s insectoid but not Nurgle” kind of way. In fact, the more I look at this Rumor Engine, the more I think it could be something related to the Ash Wastes.

I mean, really, look at the Dustback Helamites. Those “legs” do look very similar. Just saying…

Now, there obviously some differences as the Dustmites have a bit more going on. But they also look fully grown. Maybe this is a creature that’s at an earlier point in the life cycle. Or maybe it’s some sort of weird mutant hybrid…Who knows!

That’s where you come in. If you’ve got any theories as to what this mystery leg is (or who it belongs to) let us know. I’m curious about this one for sure!

What if it’s not a leg at all?!
