Warhammer 40K: All Hail 2026 – The New Year of Chaos!
GW is showing a little leg this holiday season and it can only mean one thing. 2026 is going to be a GREAT YEAR for Chaos!
Well we only got one reveal this Xmas day and it was a doozy. Hello all new enbiggened Huron Blackheart! It confirms this new year is going to be a year of Chaos with the upcoming Raptors in a Kill Team coming out and now we have Huron – the Red Corsair‘s Pirate Lord of the Maelstrom. This is an exciting release for me as my normal CSM army is the Red Corsairs as I’ve always been a pirate renegade in my cold black heart.
Huron Blackheart Looks Great!
Overall the model looks pretty dang awesome. It has a more unique build out to showcase he is a marine who more recently fell into Chaos (compared to the full CSM range) as well as pushing some of the aspects of his broken nature. He looks conveniently wrecked with half his body being pretty messed up. He then gets a giant crazy power claw smashed into his body like some kind of weird Chaos Ork. Oh he even has a very Chaos feeling tactical rock to stand on and look at your opponent menacingly.
Chaos Signs and Portents
With this release we can see how the rumors swirling around might just be right. The often mentioned return of the Mutilators as well as a talked about Defiler kit. The ancient Defiler kit came out in the Chaos 3.5 codex in 2002! A new one has to be coming as the old classic kit somehow survived in the new CSM codex and I can only hope there is a nice update coming to let the model work. Right now it just doesn’t really work with its 8″ move and extremely fat base. It’s one of those models that needs an update as it feels really “old” when compared to the newer kits with all its basic chaos features. I just hope the rumors are true and it looks cool as heck.
With Huron showing up we know we’ll see an updated Renegade Raiders detachment. I don’t really know what else it could use unless they really want to push the CSM build into a speedy raiders type of thing and give it something nutty like Advance and Charge army wide. I would love to see a few of the other old renegade options to show up to bring a bit more fluff and fun to the CSM book. I hear there might be a few more kits so I am just excited to get more things, hopefully get some updated Datasheets, and find a new way to play my new CSM stuff.
I hope your Xmas was great. I had a good time with the kids, got some things, and ready to hit the ground running next year with new stuff. Heck I pretty much got my Emperor’s Children done over this little break I have. I wanted to knock them out to get Noise Marines ready for future CSM stuff as well as preparing me for a big ole EC commission I will be doing this next year.
