There’s a brand new Daemonsmith miniature coming to Age of Sigmar. You just have to shop at your Warhammer Store to get your hands on one.

Let’s cut to the chase: The new Helsmiths of Hashut Daemonsmith is a Warhammer Store exclusive from the Commemorative Series. It’s a cool looking miniature for what it is. Have a look for yourself:

But the real question is “how do you actually get your hands on this one?” Simple: Go shopping at your local Warhammer Store.

via Warhammer Community

You’ll be able to get Ull Zuru by heading to your local Warhammer store from the 31st of January, and spending £100 or more (ask staff for your local currency amount) in one transaction. Do that, and he’ll be added to your pile of Warhammer, totally gratis. Think of it as a gift from Hashut himself. No strings attached. Ull Zuru will only be available in this manner while stocks last – be sure to check with the staff at your store for more details.

It’s worth noting that “Gift vouchers/Gift cards are excluded from this promotion.” So if you got one for Christmas and you haven’t use it yet, sorry, it’s not going to apply to this purchase.

Helsmiths of Hashut Daemonsmith

Personally, I do like this miniature. If I was planning on starting a Helsmiths of Hashut army this would be a nice little bonus miniature to snag. Starting a new hobby project or army in Warhammer can easily cross that pricing threshold these days (cue complaints about pricing now). But really if you were looking at a boxed set like a Combat Patrol or Spearhead box you’re already there. So in that way, it’s a bonus miniature.

Then again, if you’re got zero interest in the Helsmiths this one isn’t exactly going to be pushing you towards that army. I think it could be cool for conversions or trade though. It could easily be a psyker in 40k or a “generic wizard” in AoS if you wanted to go that route. There’s one slight catch though because of his base:

As a Commemorative Series miniature, he doesn’t have unique rules, so you can use him to represent a standard Daemonsmith in your Helsmiths of Hashut army.  He comes on a larger base than the standard Daemonsmith to accommodate his obsidian altar, so be aware you’ll need a standard 32mm base if you want to use him in Matched Play games.

So yeah…hopefully you’ve got a spare base to attach this miniature to if you want to use it in Matched Play games. For everyone else I guess this Daemonsmith might be a fun side hobby project.

I think the obsidian altar could be used as a really cool objective marker if you wanted to put the Daemonsmith on a 32mm base though…
