D&D Beyond’s 3rd Party Roadmap Released Before WotC’s 2026 Lineup
We don’t know what books WotC has planned for 2026, but hey, here’s what’s getting official D&D Beyond 3rd Party support.
D&D Beyond released a “partnered content” release schedule for the next few months. Which, first of all, the term “partnered content” makes my skin crawl. Calling something content just reduces it down to basically filler, grist for the mill, digital noise that like the roar of an uncaring ocean clamoring for your attention. But, second of all, there’s some cool stuff on the way, including an updated for 5.5E version of Exploring Eberron.
D&D Beyond’s 3rd Party Release Calendar
So here’s what D&D Beyond has coming to it. Of course, if you aren’t using D&D Beyond, this stuff is probably already available to you, and you just have to go find it. But, for those of you using D&D Beyond, starting January 27th you can grab an updated Exploring Eberron. I love this series, personally. It’s got a ton of interesting new player options. This includes the Way of the Living Weapon for Monks, and the Artificer Forge Adept, which is a much more Fighter-y Artificer. Plus you get a deep dive into the lore of the world, especially the Dhakaani goblins and the sahuagin of the Thunder Sea. Fun stuff.
In February you’ll be able to take the Pugilist class. This is currently available on the DM’s Guild. But soon it’ll be integrated into the D&D Beyond character builder. This way you don’t have to try and force it in through homebrew options if you already have it. As the name implies, the Pugilist Class is all about punching. Later in the month, you can pick up Beadle & Grimm’s Faster, Purple Worm! Everybody Dies – an adventure anthology full of chaotic one shots.
March will see the release of the second part of popular two-book titles. Though, WotC being WotC, you get part 2 of one set and part 1 of the other. This starts with Heliana’s Guide to Monster Hunting: Part 2. This is a Monster Hunter World-inspired title all about hunting big monsters and making them into your weapons and armor. While you get The Griffon’s Saddlebag: Book 1 to complement the already-released book 2.
Cart Before The Horse?
That’s it for the time being. Though it strikes me as funny to get a look at WotC’s 3rd-party plans before we have word of what they’re officially releasing for the year.
At any rate, it looks like we’re seeing a much wider trend of folks updating their books for the 5.5E ruleset. All the titles, except for Heliana’s Guide to Monster Hunting: Part 2 are updated for use with the 2024 Player’s Handbook, which has the new ruleset. I think it speaks volumes about where the playerbase is – or at least where WotC wants them to be.
In the meantime, it looks like more creators are coming to D&D Beyond!
