‘Frosthaven: Legacy Of The Algox’ Early Access Update Arrives – New Heroes, Quests, And More

Frosthaven, the video game, currently in early access on Steam, just got a big new early access update in the form of Legacy of the Algox. This new expansion brings a whole new area full of quests, new heroes, and new pets. And, most importantly, new items to your ongoing game of Frosthaven.
Frosthaven: Legacy of the Algox – Now Available
If you haven’t checked out the PC version of Frosthaven, you really should. It’s an incredible adaptation of Cephalofair Games’ sequel to Gloomhaven. Designed in coordination with Isaac Childress (the Frost/Gloomhaven designer) and also by Julian Gollop of X-COM fame, the game is perilous to your free time. It’s built on the principle of “well, one more mission,” and then you’re wondering how it’s Thursday already.
The new update, Legacy of the Algox, adds more stuff to play with. While it gives you a better idea of how the whole game is getting translated from the tabletop to your PC. There are so many levers to pull on here, so to speak. From a stable waiting to be filled with elusive pets for extra advantage in those difficult battles, to five challenging new bosses with their own tactical challenges, there’s plenty of stuff to bite into here.
But the stars of the new update are the three new heroes/advanced classes. These new heroes, “Astral”, “Drill”, and “Shackles” bring new playstyles and new abilities that will transform the parties you can build in your own game. Which means you’ll have 14 characters to choose from.
“FROSTHAVEN introduces the Legacy of the Algox storyline. With the Unfettered threat finally dealt with, the heroes of Frosthaven turn their attention to the escalating Algox conflict. An Algox messenger arrives, bringing information about a possible resolution. Now, the heroes of Frosthaven must decide the fate of the Algox and shape the legacy that will define their future. Something ancient and malevolent stirs beneath the ice.”
Each of the new classes has its own suite of abilities. Shackles has the ability to “control pain itself” which means you’ll be able to redirect harmful effects and damage towards the enemy. While Drill is a “heavy-lifting tank class” with a focus on defensive capabilities and melee combat. And Astral is an elemental class that can boost attacks, heal, and “manifest crystalline weapons.”
You’ll also get to explore two new biomes and embark on more than 25 new quests. The storyline itself demands your help in brokering peace between your allied Algox tribe and their rivals. Will you secure full cooperation for them? Or will intrigues claim the uneasy truce?
