Last Day To Back The ‘Thundercats’ RPG On Kickstarter
Thunder, Thunder, Thundercats haaave only 24 hours to go on the Kickstarter for an upcoming RPG that blends Thundercats and D&D.
It is little wonder that the Thundercats RPG was funded in under a minute. It blends together three powerful forces: nostalgia, D&D, and furries. Anyone who watched the show is at least a little bit of one, let’s be real. Cheetara and Lion-O are responsible, at least in part, for the awakening of your friendly local senior network engineer.
And with those powers combined, the Thundercats RPG has raised more than a quarter million dollars. As it heads into the last day, there’s still time to get in on the action and secure any backer rewards you might want.
Thundercats RPG – Final Day On Kickstarter
As you might imagine, the Kickstarter raised all that money to publish the book, a 240+ page hardcover rulebook with everything you need to get into the world of ancient Thundara.
In the RPG, you can either play as one of the titular Thundercats or create your own. Which, if you’re reading this, you might well have done already. But now there are rules and mechanics to help support the OC of your dreams.
“Designed and written by Lynnvander Studios and published by Dynamite Entertainment, this 240+ page hardcover rulebook captures the excitement, drama, and adventure of the beloved animated and comic series — letting players step into the world of Third Earth like never before.
This is your ALL IN ONE reference to start playing and experiencing the action and adventure of the world of the Thundercats! With this book you can do it all – make characters, run adventures, fight creatures, and set up your Thundercats campaign with confidence.”
As for the book itself, it promises a number of Thundercats-focused player options, including a whole new class, as well as a suite of subclasses, feats, and spells. It’s actually quite extensive. Take a look at this list of subclasses:
- Path of Collision: A Barbarian of explosive being in motion, shaking the battlefield with sheer force.
- College of Omens: A Bard gifted with Sight Beyond Sight to gain prophetic insight in combat and social encounters.
- Ancient Spirits of Evil and Good Domain: A Cleric who walks the razor’s edge of good and evil, granting power to allies or themselves.
- Circle of the Croft: A Druid attuned to unicorns, able to summon their forms with radiant, moonlit magic.
- Operator: A Fighter of adaptability, able to modify weapons and armor to meet any challenge.
- Warrior of the Claw: A Monk like an agile predator, leaping great distances and pouncing with feline ferocity.
- Oath of Destiny: A Paladin oathbound to a path of fate neither they nor their foes can deny.
- Evil-Chaser: A Ranger sworn to hunt evil, striking terror in corrupted hearts.
- Heckler: A Rogue who disorients foes with taunts and cutting wit, leaving enemies frustrated and distracted.
- Metamorphosis Sorcerer: A Sorcerer infused with magical mummification, tapping into unworldly power and transforming into monstrous forms of terrible strength.
- Mongor Patron: A Warlock bound to the demon of fear, channeling and amplifying dread itself.
- Magician: A Wizard of deception, bending space and perception through subtle spellcraft and hidden portals.
All that to say, there’s still time to back!
Look for the Thundercats RPG to start fulfillment in February – a quick turnaround!
