Take a look at some amazing Gundam builds by the talented Dera_0305 – mobile suits from Char’s Counterattack, Gundam SEED Destiny, and more.

Gundam is one of the longest-running sci-fi mecha franchises around. We’ve seen some really amazing big Gundam builds in LEGO over time. However, it’s not just giant builds that are awesome, but there are lots of smaller and mid-sized ones out there. So, today, let’s take a look at a few builds by the great builder Dera-0305.

Nu-Gundam

In Char’s Counterattack, Amuro pilots the iconic and fan favorite RX-93 ν Gundam – The Nu Gundam. Armed with a variety of weapons systems, most famously its Fin Funnel system, the Nu Gundam is perfectly suited to Amuro. Unlike the more famous RX-78-2 (THE GUNDAM, Gundam, or Grandpa Gundam), the Nu Gundam is tailor-made for Amuro. Many fans would argue that Amuro in the Nu Gundam is the most deadly combination in the series, and he certainly saves the world with it.

Dera_0305 has brought us a great mid-sized build of the Nu Gundam. This is a super cool build with a lot of nice weapon options. It’s also pretty poseable, which is nice.

Gundam Strike Freedom

Another great build is the Strike Freedom. Introduced in Gundam Seed Destiny. This is another really cool build. It appears to be one of Dera’s earlier builds, and you can tell it has a bit more of a solid stand to display it on. It’s a pretty flexible build, also. You can see that the arms, legs, and back wings/fins are all movable.

Mighty Strike Freedom

An updated version of the Strike Freedom is the Mighty Strike Freedom. This Gundam was introduced in the movie Gundam Seed Freedom. It’s not a hugely different build from the normal Strike Freedom. (It’s a Gundam after all). But there are a lot of very nice detail upgrades, and the build is a pretty clear upgrade from the Strike Freedom in quality. It also looks great.

Deathscythe

Switching over to another Gundam franchise, we’ve got the Gundam Deathscythe from Mobile Suit Gundam Wing. What makes this MOC super cool is that it’s all built from the Ninjago set Cole’s Titan Dragon Mech. Reworking an existing kit into a pretty accurate Gundam is no easy task, and that’s super cool. It does mean the build isn’t as detailed as others, but it’s still awesome.

RX-78-2 Gundam

Lastly, we’ve got the RX-78-2 Gundam, the granddaddy of all Gundams. This is a super cool build that, like Dera’s other builds, is very flexible (almost like a Gunpla). This build has a lot of flexibility. It’s also got a ton of cool weapon options, such as the bazooka and beam rifle. However, my favorite has got to be the beam saber, which is curved to look like the original MS Gundam art. Such a cool detail.
