Marvel: Crisis Protocol – ‘Valkyrie and Elendil and the Warriors Three’ Rules Preview
Atomic Mass Games has a preview of the upcoming Valkyire and Elendil and the Warriors Three characters coming to Marvel: Crisis Protocol!
It’s time to ride for Asgard as the Warriors Three and Valkyrie riding Elendil are coming to the tabletop. Today we’re going to take a look at their rules and see what each of these characters can do on the tabletop! I’m looking forward to this release.
Kicking things off, we’ve got the defensive stats of 4/3/3 with 6/6 stamina all on a threat 4 character. She’s got a medium move but keep in mind that base size. She’s not a small miniature!
Her basic builder is ranged 2 and5 dice and on a hit she also gets to Advance short. I think this is important because she’s going to be a HIGHLY mobile character. Keep that in mind as we go through the rest of her kit. Valkyrie’s second attack is ranged 3 and 4 dice and gives her a flat 1 energy. However, if you move or have been placed this turn, this spikes up to 7 dice! It also allows for a range 2 place on a wild. Again, that’s some SERIOUS movement.
Valkyrie’s big spender is a range 3 attack for 5 dice and 4 energy. However, you get to add dice to the attack based on defender’s Threat level! So that 5 dice is going to go up to by at least 2 dice. If you manage to get two hits it also causes stagger, too.
Take Wing costs 3 but it’s a range 2 place. Again, the combo with Geirr is pretty obvious here. Need a Lift? is another 2 cost ability to place another character within range 2 of it’s current position. Handy. She’s also a Guardian of Valhalla which means when another allied character gets Dazed or KO’d she gets 1 energy and can choose to heal 1 damage or remove a condition on herself!
Naturally, she’s got Flight and is an Asgardian so she’s got 1 extra power generation per Power Phase on top of all that. So yeah, highly mobile and she’s got some serious damage output if you time things correctly.
Valkyrie’s Team Tactic Cards
I like that this card also applies to the OTHER Valkyrie in the game, Brunnhilde. It expensive but it’s a move and attack. Nothing wrong with that!
I like this one as well because it’s a move and a throw combo. If you manage to Daze or KO an enemy first. Again, we see these cards lean into the mobility of this character quite a bit. She’s on a flying horse so yeah…being highly mobile shouldn’t be a real shock here.
The Warriors Three
So this is really a fun looking miniature and character(s) to run. I’m just going to refer to them all as the Warriors Three instead of trying to sort out who’s who for the attack names. And I know there are three of them but I’m treating them as a singular character for the purposes of simplicity. So let’s get into their stats.
The Warriors Three clocks in as a threat 3 character. They’ve got a defensive line of 3/3/3 with 5/5 in the stamina department. They also only move Short but have a larger base, too. They have two builders. One is Hridgandr which is a range 2 attack for 5 dice. Wilds cause stun.
Their second builder is one of the flat 1 power builders. It’s range 3 and 4 dice at least. It can also cause Bleed on a wild. If you get a wild and a hit it causes pierce as well. Their big hitter is Brandrheid Undrsigr which is range 2 and 4 dice for 4 energy. However, like Valkyrie above, you get to add the target’s threat level to the number of dice you’re rolling! Additionally, if you roll the comically awkward wild and two skulls, it causes another 3 flat damage and the Warriors Three become Staggered. Oops.
Strike One for Volstagg! is a 2 cost ability that allows them to get a “free” attack — free in the sense that it doesn’t take an action to do. However of they get a skull they take 1 damage. Following that up, they also have My Steel Shall Strike For Thee! for another 2 energy. It’s basically a counter attack with Fimbuldraugr which is nice because you’ll get 1 power back regardless.
Not only are they Asgardian for the bonus power every Power Phase, they also have Grim Resolve. This is kind of cool because it allows them to advance short towards the attacker when they get hit and they also get to remove 1 damage on top of that, too.
Warriors Three Team Tactic Cards
This card I could see getting some play in an Asgardian list. It’s one of those card where you can score bonus 2 VPs — if you meet two of these triggers. Honestly, I’d want to drop this one as soon as I was able most of the time. I’d just let it sit there to wrack up those Worthy Deeds tokens and the score it for the 2 VPs when I could!
This is another neat Team Tactic Card because it allows you to pick and choose powers to trigger here. You’ve got to pay for each of them but the effects could be a nice swing in your favor. The timing on this one could be clutch to redistribute power, heal, or slap an enemy with Shock and Stun.
Now for some …okay news? They aren’t out yet. But they are coming February 13, 2026. They are currently up for Pre-Order!
Marvel: Crisis Protocol – Valkyrie on Elendil & Warriors Three $59.99
This character pack for Marvel: Crisis Protocol brings two new Asgardian characters to the game for the first time and is an ideal follow up for players looking to add some Asgardian reinforcements to CP91 Loki, Thor, Mighty Thor & Lady Sif or CP198 Asgardian Affiliation Packs. Valkyrie, or Valk, brings mounted speed and power and is an ideal pairing alongside the original Valkyrie from CP198. The Warriors Three bring a toolbox of abilities, representing the martial prowess and unique character of each individual hero to make up the group.
I really want to work on my Asgardians for some reason…
