Paizo announced two new Pathfinder books at Paizo Live over the weekend. Check out Impossible Magic and Lost Omens: High Seas.

Pathfinder is going pirating once again in one of two new sourcebooks unveiled this past weekend at the Paizo Live event. I’m all about Lost Omens: High Seas, because I love adding in high-seas adventure to any campaign. And pirates mean swashbucklers, one of my favorite fantasy archetypes. Though if that doesn’t do it for you, the other book, Impossible Magic, is sure to satisfy. Gathering together four new (to 2E remastered) classes, including the much-awaited Magus, the new book also includes a whole grimoire’s worth of new spells.

Pathfinder’s New Books From Paizo Live – High Seas And Impossible Magic

First up though, let’s talk Lost Omens: High Seas. This new sourcebook is packed full of lore and guidelines for anyone looking to deal with the “sea” part of the Inner Sea region of Golarion. Whether you’re on or below the glittering waters of Golarion’s Inner sea, there’s plenty of adventure to be had.

“Explore the failed utopia of the island of Hermea, the home of deadly Red Mantis assassins on Mediogalti Island, the mysteries of the Mordant Spire grown from the remains of a dead god, the countless pirate-scoured islands of the Shackles, or the dangerous depths of underwater regions. Each entry within this gazetteer includes the history, culture, and current events of the region, as well as a major city to include in a variety adventures.”

You’ll also find a fold-out poster map of the Inner Sea, and there are new character options awaiting (though these have yet to be revealed).

But if you prefer a little more magic in your big splatbooks, Impossible Magic is the spellcaster’s dream. Packed in a new sourcebook for the Remastered ruleset, you’ll find fournew classes: the Magus, who wields spell and blade with equal skill, the Necromancer (who hopefully will live up to the dream of commanding a bunch of skeletons and it feels good and cool), the Runesmith who carves runes onto things, or the Summoner who is all about fighting alongside their summoned companions.

The book also features more than 240 spells (my guess is either 241 or 242), each one ripe for the bombastic magical millieu that is Pathfinder 2E these days. Including, say, Mad Monkeys, which conjures up spectral monkeys to make mischief and either steal things, screech loudly, or climb all over everyone.

Oh no hope this never happens to me.

Look for both of these new books in 2026, with High Seas coming early at the head of Summer, and Impossible Magic slated for a Gen Con release, and will presumably be up for pre-order closer to release.

See you on the Inner Sea!
