Kill Team has a new Balance Update out today and there’s six changes inside that players are going to want to know about.

Games Workshop has taken a close look at Kill Team with this Balance Update. You can find the update(s) right here. It’s worth noting that a BUNCH of Kill Teams also got direct updates as well. That said, there’s six big changes that GW called out specifically. So let’s dive into those. If you’re looking for more info on the why for these changes, WarCom has an article going over each of them in more detail.

Kill Team Quarterly Updates – Six Big Changes

Change #1Breaching Charge universal equipment now provides a one-time benefit. You can perform a Breach action for 1 less AP. However, the Breach action now limits Charge and Shoot actions during that same activation if the Breach was performed for less than 2AP.

Change #2Kasrkin just got a suite of new buffs in game. There’s a new Rapid Fire faction rule, the Light’Em Up Skill At Arms now grants Severe without restrictions, and the Kasrkin Sergeant has a new Veteran Leadership rule. Overall, this should make them more competitive in game.

Change #3Battleclade‘s Noospheric Network faction rule has been updated. Some of the restrictions and timing for Network Counteracts have been “relaxed” to make it easier to use. Because of those changes the Servitor Underseer’s Noospheric Spur action has been replaced with a new Datacoronal Accumulator action.

Change #4 – The Canoptek Circle has been brought down a peg. The Obelisk Node Matrix has been modified to grant Accurate 1. On top of that change the Macrocyte Warriors have had their stats pulled back due to their overperformance.

Change #5 – The Deathwatch Kill Team has received a few nerfs as well. The strategy ploys The Long Vigil and The Shield That Slays have been modified so they no longer stack when positioned on the centerline. Their Special Issue Ammunition faction rule has also been modified.

Change #6 – Two of the Tac Ops, Flank and Retrieval, have been modified to be less consistently high-scoring.

Again, if you’re looking for even more of the “why” behind these changes, check out the full WarCom article for their reasoning. Additionally, there’s a BUNCH of smaller updates for most of the Kill Teams out there. That includes updates for the Murderwing and the Celestian Insidiants that arrived with Shadowhunt.

If you’re not playing any of these Kill Teams you should still check out the other “generic” updates to the Universal Equipment, Approved Ops, and the Tournament Companion.

Deathwatch was just too popular for the meta I guess…
