How excited are we to see a new 40K Preview this time around?  Let’s talk about the awesome new 2026 preview releases headed our way very, very soon!

How excited are we to see a new Preview this time around?  It feels like it’s been quiet for a while even with some book covers getting leaked.  Obviously this time will see the new Pirates from the Maelstrom and they look amazing.  I am so ready to paint up some Red Corsairs again because my favorite color is Red.  I guess I am happy for my Aeldari friends to get new models and they look pretty dang good too.  Let’s talk about the releases a bit as I am sure will see rules for them pretty soon.  Oh and we got some new Golden Boyz and Girls to talk about as well.

Hello Red Corsairs!

It is a good day to be a pirate.  We have two pirate themed sets coming out of the Maelstrom – with a return of a hero character that as very much missed and an update to a truly cool bad guy.  I like all the boxes shown as everything just seems awesome. There is so much stuff in here with a really unique set of design for GW.  I feel that both sides remind me of the design the Emperor’s Children have.  They are much more restrained than I would expect and it is a nice thing to see.  They feel like they could actually move in the game instead of being bogged down by random bits and covered in trinkets.

The Red Corsairs are one of my favorite “legions” within the Chaos Space Marine book.  I always liked the idea of Space Marines that are just fed up with the normal life they lead and instead have become truly rogues and bad space highwayman jerks.  It’s one of the few things that feels very Star Wars like which I think is a cool thing.  The new releases for them look awesome.

Huron and his gang of jerks are pretty dang awesome.  I love the female “dog” executioner which is a cool update.  The human Ship Captain also looks pretty amazing.  I am not sure about the Headsman option and want to see what kind of weird rules he has.  Overall this gang of jerks is something I will love to paint up and I hope their rules are good.  I would be neat to get some more options on the table top.

The boxed set for the Red Corsairs seems pretty neat too.  You get the new Red Corsairs Raiders which is a unit in-between Chosen and Legionaries  which seems like a cool thing.  I hope their cost is cheaper with a bunch more weapon options to help give CSM more bullies.  The other new unit I am excited to see is the new Reave Captain which while not nearly as killy as a Chaos Lord it seems to have a lot more powering up his friends he joins.  I love that idea as I think CSM are missing some benefit heroes like a Lt. or the old Aspiring Champion.  Overall the boxed set looks pretty cool and will be an exciting edition to our CSM forces.

Hello Yriel’s Eldritch Raiders!

On the other side we have the Aeldari Corsair’s coming out.  The new Vyper kit is probably one of the more exciting things from this box.  I think this finally gets rid of all the 20+ year old models from their line now.  It looks like a cool kit, the lines are very smooth, and again it isn’t over designed which is a neat thing in this book.  On the other side of this you have the new Sky Reavers which look cool as heck.  It makes me feel will see a lot more of the old FW Corsair stuff get reworked into pretty plastic.  The two new characters are also pretty amazing with Prince Yriel leading the way with a very nicely updated kit.  It matches the old unit with the two Banners on his back and that snarky one eye faced.  There is a named psychic who is a Void Dreamer named Kharseth and he seems interesting.

Lady Custodes & Sisters of Silence Hit the Tabletop

The final bit of 40k fun is the new Horus Heresy stuff coming out for the Adeptus Custodes.  That is a very amazing boxed set and something will see grabbed up by anyone wanting to do a Custodes army.  Those models look pretty amazing and with everything showing up as hard Plastic you know this is going to be a great set to buy.  I love the tank going plastic, all the weirdness showing up in the models, and so many female heads.  I have been thinking about a Muscle Mommies army and this will be where it will start if I get tired of EC pretty quickly. All of this stuff looks good and will be fun to paint up.  Oh and those Dreadnoughts are amazing looking.

Finally we got a small preview of the Iron Warriors. Rumors point to an upgrade sprue like the Night Lords so will see if that is all we get.  I hope we see more things – like another Daemonic Primarch.  It would be neat to see something less gigantic and more akin to an evil version of the Lion or Roboute.  Overall I think this preview did a pretty good job.  The only thing missing was Old World and I just wondering if they are waiting to show that stuff at Adepticon as they have a good Old World player presence there. I will be at Adepticon with StableAbe so you know there will be some exciting players to see some fun Old World square based nonsense.
