Warhammer New Year Preview: Horus Heresy – New Super-Heavy & Whirlwind Kit On The Way
The Space Marine Legions are getting some new Tanks Support with a new variant and a returning classic to the Horus Heresy.
Even the Legions need to call in the big guns every once in a while to rumble forth. You can take a planet without tanks but it’s a lot easier when the heavy metal is on your side. The GW Preview showed off a pair of tanks to bring in the big booms with!
Glaive Super-Heavy Special Weapons Tank
The Glaive has one of the largest Volkite weapons ever created. It’s going to rival titan-sized weapons. I’d hate to be on the receiving end of all that destructive energy for sure, It’s also going to be carried on the same chassis as a Fellblade so you can bet it’s a big boy! And it’s all in plastic, too.
Whirlwind Missile Tank
The Classic Whirlwind is back in a plastic kit. This version is perfect for the Horus Heresy as it’s got a few other tricks up it’s salvo’d sleeves. One thing was mentioned about how it can really mess with morale and essentially blast units off their objectives with the right payload.
Journal Tactica – Mailed Fist
For all the rule for these two tanks and more you’ll find them in the Mailed Fist Journal Tactica coming out along side these releases. And would you look at that cover up close…
See, they did have an Ultramarine in the preview!
Anyhow, we also have a great look at the Horus Heresy Plastic Kits next to each other.
Those are both basically the size of a Fellblade. Which is to say…not small tanks! The Solar Auxilia there for scale helps.
The Legions are getting more tank support in the New Year. Are you Treadheads ready?!
