Warhammer: Age of Sigmar is getting a magical bump this weekend from these new releases and we’re taking a closer look at them!

Up for pre-order today are a trio of new miniatures as well as the battletomes for the Lumineth Realm-lords and the Disciples of Tzeentch. We’ve got the miniatures on hand and they are all built up! It’s time to take a look at how the new heroes and the faction terrain look up close.

The Vanari Lord Regent

The Vanari Lord Regent is a new martial hero for the Lumineth Realm-lords. Being an infantry unit he’s perfect for running along side blocks of your Wardens or Sentinels. I like that this miniature has a few different options, specifically the banners on their back. You can also build this miniature with a helmet, shield, and two different sword options as well.

Personally, I would have opted for the helmet if I had built him because I wouldn’t march to war without my full armor set on. By you do you. I do appreciate the details on this miniature like the armor plating and the scale mail. There’s a lot of little things that are on this miniature so painting one up can be quite time consuming. But a well painted LRL army is a sight to behold!

Which pose would you have gone with?

The Fatemaster

Up next is the Fatemaster for the Disciples of Tzeentch. This model doesn’t have quite as many options as the Vanari Lord Regent but he’s bringing some cool tricks to the tabletop for the Disciples of Tzeentch. He’s a bit more of a martial character as well but I like this sort of “spellcasting” pose, too. I do like the nods to Tzeentch with the feathers on his cape/shoulder, too.

If you’re looking for a new character to toss into your DoT armies the Fatemaster makes a pretty strong case to be included!

The Argent Shards

Finally, we have the Argent Shards. This new faction terrain for the Disciples of Tzeentch is a two miniature kit. You’ve the twin shards that have some funky rules that allow for recursion for destroyed shards as well as extended spellcasting.

Miniature-wise, I like that you’ve basically got one open shard and then you’ve got the closed shard. But both are chaotic in their own ways. At least it will be easy to tell them apart. I’m also just glad to see more faction terrain in general. I think these types of pieces on bases are way more useful and usable compared to the more chunky faction terrain that might have too much of a foot print. What do you think of them?

If I were playing DoT I’d pick the the Argent Shards for sure thanks to their new rules!
