Games Workshop Rumor Engine: Feather In Your Hat
It looks like we’ve got a feather of a sort in this new image from the Rumor Engine from Games Workshop. I wonder who’s wearing it.
Welcome to another Tuesday and a brand new Rumor Engine from Games Workshop. Today’s image was a little weird at first but I think we’ve pinned this one down. But before we get into the theories, you should have a look yourself.
It might be all death and gloom in the worlds of Warhammer, where there’s always someone that wants to turn your brain inside-out or paint their dozer blade in a delicate shade of ‘you’, but that doesn’t mean you can’t look stylish while you’re there. Just take the owner of this dashing feather for instance – our first thought was that it’s clearly from an extraordinarily cool hat or headpiece.
Rumor Engine – Feather In Your Cap
This is a peculiar looking feather. It doesn’t look very firm like a feather for flight does. This clearly look decorative. Like a peacock’s feather. Or maybe an Ostrich. You know I don’t typically think of the Old World when it comes to Rumor Engine teasers but this time around…
For some reason I can’t but help think of the Empire from the Old World for this one. Their Captains and Generals are known for their oversized headgear (at least to me). So this seems like a pretty reasonable assumption!
There’s plenty of options in that army that have ornate feathers. And there also appears to be some sort of plate armor in there as well. Those are both things that the Empire is well suited to wearing.
Having said that, I don’t want to rule out other options. It’s possible it could be one of their uh…descendants in the Cities of Sigmar. Although they don’t really wear a ton of feathers.
On the other extreme, what about the Grimdark side of the house? Personally, I could see this being an Inquisitor or Rogue Trader. They tend to have a since to style unique to themselves.
In any case, while I do strongly think this fits within the Old World, I like to keep my options open here. But I think I’m good in terms of those now — so what do you think? Are there other factions where plate armor and a feather would fit in? Let us know in the comments what you think this one could be a teaser for.
Did you know that Macaroni was a type of popular wig in the 1770s? Yankee Doodle indeed…
