Icy Dice For Snowy Game Days
If the skies just dumped a bunch of snow on you, too, these icy dice will turn your snow days into game days.
It just snowed here. Again. I live in a place that’s pretty used to the show, and still managed to have two kids-home-from-school sort of days, and am going to finish shoveling my car out of my driveway as soon as I finish this dice list. Personally, I love the snow, but I’m officially looking forward to springtime. But if you’re either snowed in or not looking to leave the comfort of your warm home unless absolutely necessary for the next few days, maybe these icy dice will help your days snowed in turn into days out on adventures.
Freezing Water Dice
This was probably one of the most interesting sets of icy dice I found. Compared to some of the more classic blue-or-white dice, these don’t look as classically icy. But they remind me of watching ice crystals from around a bubble or on water. They’re a little more subtle and would be neat, simple dice for any time of year. But if you’ve ever watched a video of bubbles freezing and thought, “I can watch at least five more of those,” these dice may also be strangely calming to look at. Until they roll a 1.
Snowflake Dice
Simple and classic, these clear resin dice have silver snowflakes floating in them. The silver lettering doesn’t stand out very strongly against the background. But they’re clean and easy to read, and I don’t think there’s another color that would have looked better on these dice.
Snowy Mountain Dice
The effect of these dice is so cool, and would work for any mountain-climbing adventurer, even in warmer months. There are tiny snow-capped mountains in these dice. Is it winter in there? Is it just a very high altitude? Either way, these are some pretty dice. And the gold numbers stand out very strongly against the mountains and make the whole scene feel regal and important.
Glow In The Dark Ice Dice
If you’re playing one of the only-need-D6 games, this is a set of twelve icy blue dice. And, they glow in the dark! I’ve said before that glow-in-the-dark dice are a little silly because we don’t tend to play in the dark. But if we’re all being honest, if we know something is glow-in-the-dark we’re going to say “oooo” and cup our hands around them to see. It’s just a little extra fun. Which is exactly what we want sometimes in our TTRPGs.
Dice-Shaped Ice
And of course, if we’re getting dice that look like ice, we should make some ice that looks like dice. Your D&D friends are probably going to want drinks, and dice-shaped-ice will be a hit at your table. Your friends want warm drinks? Maybe these will make them change their tune! Or, save the dice ice for later and think longingly of warmer weather.
