Marvel: Crisis Protocol – Valkyrie on Elendil & Warriors Three Unboxed & Up Close
Asgardian reinforcements have arrived with Valkyrie on Elendil and the Warriors Three! Let’s check them out for Marvel: Crisis Protocol!
Atomic Mass Games has been cranking out new kits for Marvel: Crisis Protocol and I’m pleased to share this one with you. Atomic Mass sent me a review copy of the latest Asgardian character pack for Valkyrie on Elendil and the Warriors Three. I got to unbox this one and build the miniatures. So let’s get into this kit and I’ll share my thoughts.
I would have liked to see the Warriors Three get individual releases but this combo version is still cool looking!

As we dive into this one we’ve got the standard packaging for Atomic Mass Games. You know the drill by now. Sprues in one baggy. Cards in the other. I don’t really mention the cardboard sheet that’s placed in between them in the box but that does prevent the sprues from damaging the cards which is nice.
As we’ve seen before the cards included are full play sets in the supported languages, too. Again, not a surprise but it’s worth mentioning. Speaking of the cards…
Here’s a look at the cards and tokens included in the box. If you’d like a deeper dive, I’ve actually done that and, honestly, there’s better looks at the cards in that article. Playwise, I think that both new additions add some nice tech to the Asgardians. The Warriors Three has potential to swing a bunch in one activation if you get a little lucky. Valkyrie and Elendil provide some very useful movement tech as well.
As far as sprues go, Valkyrie comes with two sprues for her build. You’ve got the main body of Elendil and then more of the base and Valkyrie’s miniature. The Warriors Three are all on a single sprue. I also wanted to point out how much more dense the sprues are relative to previous AMG products. They are really maxing out the space here.
Now, on to the builds!

I did assemble these miniatures. When I assemble plastic miniatures I typically will use plastic glue as I like how it sets vs super glue. It fuses the plastic together but that also means you can’t easily separate the bits later. For these in particular that’s perfect as I’m not looking to kit bash them. Oh, and I don’t really talk about this process to often but I do clip and clean all the bits. I try to get rid of any sprue-burs before I assemble. Honestly, I don’t catch them all and these pictures often time help me see any of them I’ve missed or gaps that need to be filled before painting.
Anyhow, these two miniatures turned out great! I was surprised at how stable Valkyrie on Elendil felt after everything set. AMG’s sculptors did a great job of centering the mass of this one. And the miniature sculpt itself looks fantastic. Really well done!
Obviously they take up quite a bit of space but the base and the miniatures elevation relative to the table make it easy to move around. It’s not top heavy in an awkward way. I’m not afraid to bump the tabletop and have this one fall over.
Build-wise it wasn’t really too difficult. The trickiest part for me was attaching Valkyrie to the saddle. I really recommend dry fitting her legs on the saddle first to see how they are supposed to attach. She’s kind of leaning forward so keep that in mind. There are slots to help guide you but even knowing that it was a little tricky. Also, her cape and hair bun sort of attach, too. That’s actually really useful because the hair helps to force the cape into the right spot. So follow the instructions but I found that attaching the cape and then the hair bun resulted in a better fit.
As for the Warriors Three? This one was a breeze to build. I also didn’t fully glue them down so that I could paint them individually later on. The good news is they each have slots on their feet so technically you could affix them to the base without glue if you just wanted to test them out before painting.
Also, when I was taking photos, I realized that a back shot would have just been Volstagg’s uh…backside. So I pulled him off the base so you could see the other two warriors details a bit more.
Again, the build for these was really simple. It kind of reminded me of building older sculpts from the 90s because they are so straight forward. Their individual poses aren’t that crazy either as they are each standing their sort of heroically.
It’s simple but I like their look together. Fandral, Hogun, and Volstagg are here and ready to party like an Asgardian.
Here’s a top down view as well. I just wanted to show off their scenic basing.
Speaking of which both of these models do come with their own unique basing. I like to magnetize my bases. So what I tend to do for these is to cut a circle out of plasticard and glue magnets on one side of those. Then I’ll glue that into the base. It creates a slightly raised bottom but it hides the magnets. I haven’t done it for these yet but that’s one more hobby project for me to do on them before I prime and paint.
Available Now From Asmodee
This character pack is already out and in stores. Hopefully you can grab your copy from your FLGS or just order direct from Asmodee. If you’re playing the Asgardians Affiliation I think this is good pick-up. They offer some slightly cheaper threat levels and can help round out your lists with some extra supporting pieces.
