Total War: Warhammer III – The Tiger Warriors Announced For Grand Cathay
Place your bets! How long until we see the Tiger Warriors show up on the tabletop in Warhammer: The Old World?
Creative Assembly has been chugging right along with more Total War: Warhammer III updates. Today we’ve got some big news with the introduction of a whole new unit for the Armies of Grand Cathay. The Tiger Warriors are on the prowl!
The Tiger Warriors of Grand Cathay are settlers who long ago found a home in Western Cathay. They are sworn to serve Zhao Ming, the Iron Dragon and Master of the Western Provinces, but they remain wholly loyal to their chieftain Bhashiva and to their god, Kamau. They stand apart from the people of Grand Cathay, maintaining their own traditions and military structures. Legends tell that they were created in the distant past by the Old Ones.
Tiger Warriors of Grand Cathay
It’s kind of crazy to see these Tiger Warriors coming to Total War: Warhammer III. They are apparently pretty far along in the process as well. They will be “coming soon” to the game as part of an upcoming Character Pack. So that’s pretty exciting news!
Obviously this raises quite a few questions on the tabletop side of things. My first question is still “how long will it take to go from the screen to the tabletop for the Tiger Warriors?” We got Grand Cathay in Total War before we go them (officially) on the tabletop. And we saw how awesome those translations were. I can already see that being a thing for the Tiger Warriors as well. On top of that, this is likely just a unit and maybe a character, too. Perhaps the Tiger Warriors will be a dual-unit kit. But honestly, who knows — besides GW and Creative Assembly anyhow.
However you slice it, GW and CA are bringing a new unit to Total War: Warhammer III. That means porting it over to the tabletop is certainly a possibility. The pipeline is already established. Now we’re just going to have to wait and see how long it takes.
I give it sometime in mid-2027 or early 2028.
