The Red Corsairs are up for Pre-Order this weekend and they’ve already been raiding our studio! Time to see these scallywags up close!

Huron Blackheart is in the house and he’s got some friends along for the ride. Our very own Goatboy assembled these new Chaos Space Marine Miniatures are it’s time to dive into dark waters of piracy with them! Or at least see what they look like. Yeah… that’s probably a better way to put that. Anyhow, time to say hello to this pirate crew.

Now we already got a pretty good look at this guy but it’s nice to see him in bare plastic. I’m pretty sure Goatboy is already painting him up (if he’s not already done). I’m a little jealous I didn’t get this one but it’s okay. I’ve got plenty on my hobby table at the moment. That said, I still like this model quite a bit. I think it’s a big leap from the last version. I’m still thinking about a head swap to a miniature with a helmet on. Although that’s mostly because I think it’s not wise to go to battle without some head protection. Still, that power fist with the built in flamer is pretty iconic. Gotta respect Huron Blackheart for that one!

Masters of The Maelstrom

Up next we have the full Masters of the Maelstrom crew. This is basically the other unit included in the boxed set.

Overall, I think this is a nice set. Again, we know it’s essentially the Chaos version of the Wardens of Ultramar. However, I think I like these models slightly more. His crew just feels slightly more intimidating and there’s a lot of details for each one. It just makes them seem more characterful and interesting. Plus, I like their battle poses more. That’s all subjective though — you do you.

Red Corsairs

And the last batch of miniatures here are the Red Corsairs themselves. These are the Elite Raiders and they sure look battle worn. They are all veterans you probably don’t want to mess with!

I really like that the Red Corsairs Raiders have a mix of power armor parts. It gives them that look of a veteran but also a scavenger. Still, if they’ve survived long enough to reclaim power armor from other Space Marines you know they aren’t going down easily. They might be pirates…but they are VERY good pirates.

What do you think of the new Red Corsairs coming this weekend to pre-order?
