If you think the Adeptus Mechanicus were lacking in heavy firepower then you need to meet Archmagos Terminus and the new Hastarii!

The Order Reductor is here as a subcult of the Adeptus Mechanicus. They believe that the Omnissiah is an avatar of destruction. Thulia Ghuld, Archmagos Terminus of Mars, is here as a follower of that slice of the Ad Mech belief structure. And she believes it’s time to unleash the power of the Ommissiah’s faithful.

[Archmagos Terminus Thulia Ghuld] believes that the Machine God himself has made her his instrument for the efficient conduct of war, and scorns those like Belisarius Cawl who waste valuable time and resources on diplomacy and experimentation when they could be blowing heretics to pieces instead. In turn, Cawl and his ilk accuse Thulia of seeing no value in knowledge if it cannot be applied to the blowing up of more heretics – and in fairness, they’re absolutely right.

The Archmagos Terminus is certainly more war-like that some of her peers. That said, the Skitarii are a fan of her views. They even consider her Vox Dei which basically means she’s the “living emitter of the Machine God’s word.” So she’s certainly got some sway with them on the battlefield. That leads us to our next recruits for the Adeptus Mechanicus: The Hastarii.

Hastarii are a vital element of the Skitarii macro-clades that combine the heavy firepower of much larger machines with armoured cyborg bodies modified to carry such destructive weapons on the front lines. Their right arms are replaced with gyroscopically stabilised gun mounts wired directly into their cortical circuits, giving them uncanny accuracy at the cost of needing advanced backpack generators that are as heavy as they are difficult to manufacture.

There seems to be two versions of the Hastarii coming. First there are the Hastarii Exterminators who are wielding eradication casters. These weapons spew forth “expanding cones of lethal atomising energy” which makes them sound like close range weapons. Perfect for taking out masses of infantry.

On the other end of the destructive spectrum you’ve got the Hastarii Fuiliers. They are equipped with neutron fusils which are anti-vehicle weapons. Lancing through vehicles to make them ineffective hunks of scrap is what they do!

Archmagos Terminus Thulia Ghuld and the Hastarii are coming to the tabletop around the same time as the new Defiler, Mulitators, and Iron Warriors as well. I feel like that’s going to be an interesting campaign book for sure! And apparently, that’s not ALL that’s coming either…
