There’s a new Imperial Knight marching to war. The Destrier fills an interesting spot in the Imperial Knight roster for Warhammer 40,000.

The Imperial Knights have a new Knight coming online and marching to war. The Knight Destrier new kid on the block. Sitting between an Armiger and a Questoris-class Knight. It’s a lean-and-mean Knight able to move swift and deliver a deadly strike where it’s needed most.

The new Knight Destrier has an interesting set of options and this kit looks rather versatile. Let’s get into it!

The Knight Destrier is a pattern of Bellatus class Imperial Knight prized for its incredible speed and grace, achieved by slimming down the chassis and mounting two large rocket boosters to the back of its carapace. So great is the added thrust of these boosters that large counterweights must be added to the Knight’s legs to help it maintain balance.

Starting off, we’ve got a nice size comparison here. Again, it’s larger than an Armiger but smaller than a Questoris. This gives it a smaller footprint on the tabletop but still brings the speed and power of a Knight. Weapon-wise the Destrier has answers for a lot of the problems you might face on the tabletop. For it’s melee options, you can take either a thundershock spear or a Bellauts reaper chainsword. The former is great for taking on heavy armor with relative ease. While the latter is perfect for charging into swarms of infantry to initiate the classic rip-and-tear protocol!

For ranged options the Destrier has some familiar options. The chastier gatling cannon pelts the enemy with loads of high velocity shots. And the frag bombard brings the boom with it’s grenade-like blasts. Both options can be deadly in their own right. It really just depends on which option you think complements their melee weapon.

Personally, I do like the look of this kit. It’s nice that the Knights are getting another option that’s not just another Armiger or Questoris. It’s an entirely brand new kit! I think a “medium” Knight like this could find it’s place on the tabletop. If nothing else, the Destrier should be a great option for helping to round out points in a 2000-point list. But that also depends on where it clocks in at for the points department, too.

So now the big question is “when can we get it?!”

This incredible new Imperial Knights kit will be joining the battle at the same time as their Adeptus Mechanicus allies when the next narrative expansion for Warhammer 40,000 drops in.

There you have it. It’s coming soon with the next big narrative expansion push. We’re still waiting to find out exactly what that will be. One thing we do know is that it’s going to involve the Adeptus Mechanicus and the Iron Warriors. So get ready for the battle of the bots!

How do you think this “middle-man” Knight is going to work out?
